Bike recomendations?
hi, I'm looking to buy a new road bike however I'm having trouble finding one that meets my requirements. I'm looking for a race bike with disk breaks and having enough space in the fork to comfortably fit 30mm tires. does anyone have any suggestions?

With the desire fo 30mm tires, perhaps a gravel bike would be worth looking at. Not sure what the "race bike" requirement is. I'm assuming light weight?

Thanks for the sugestions. I have looked into a gravel bike but after trying one I felt that my sprinting speed was limited a bit on the roads which is why im looking for a road bike. Thanks again for the sugestions and sorry for not being very clear.

Have you looked into the Endurance genre of road bikes? They tend to have more aggressive geometry than a gravel bike and still have lots of tire clearance in the frame. I'd take a look at the Canyon Endurace... I don't see the tire clearance listed on the site but I'm sure they'd answer if you asked. Good luck!

BTW, I note you have a Giant Escape, as do I. I recently posted:
# 1, choose a Bike Shop you like, then (2) tell them about what your riding plans are...
(3) test ride some bikes they have..!

To add to that good, general basic advice, I recently posted...My shopping strategy for something important is to look at the high end (expensive) models first, just to know what’s available and then whittle downwards to find what’s acceptable, the so-called sweet spot of price/value.

Whenever I’m asked about buying a bike my questions are what do you want it for, and how much to spend?
IMO bikes of similar quality by brand names stratify in groups of about approximately $US 200 intervals [up about $1500-2000, then the price interval spreads widen].

...Now here’s where I’m coming from. I have described myself as a decades-long, year-round lifestyle cyclist, and my favored bike is a high-end carbon fiber bike costing thousands of dollars..
I also have a aluminum beater road bike costing about $1500, and for me that was a minimal road bike, to be used in bad weather.
FWIW, I also have a Giant Escape hybrid bike that I recently bought for rehabilitation, because I was having trouble with my neck and shoulders riding the drop bars.
That bike cost about $600, and IMO was a good value as an all-round bike, certainly more amenable to off-road riding than my expensive carbon fiber road bike, and sturdy for my urban commute on the mean streets of Boston.

Giant Defy for '19 will fit 32mm tires. I went to buy a '19 Defy 2 at my lbs but came home with a '18 Defy. Only fits a 28mm but $600 discount I couldn't pass on. The fitted 25mm tubeless tire ride very well on the dirt/gravel roads around my house. Better than the 32mm tires that came on my Trek FX3. The Defy has disk brakes but is considered an 'Endurance' style bike.

hi, guys thanks a lot for all the support in my question! I have looked at your suggestions thanks especially to 99spokes for the endurance suggestion. I have narrowed it down to the giant defy, the specialized diverge elite, and the trek Domane SL 5 Disc. so far I'm leaning towards the giant seeing as it was tubeless wheels. if anyone can give me some advice on the bikes and relevant information please do so I truly appreciate the help.
