SRAM MTH-306 Freehub question
Apparently, this hub marked L26NOV11 fits 8 speed cassettes but not 9. Is it possible to swap freehub bodies? I was hoping to use this unused wheelset for narrower tires on my 9er... Current tires are 700x54, I was looking at using 38 to 45s. Kind of moot if I can't use my 9 speed cassettes...

8, 9 &10 speed should be the same body. At least it is on Shimano and should be on SRAM.

I tried to fit a 9 speed cassette, and couldn't get the 9th gear on...

According to this article, 8-speed is 35.4mm and 9-speed is 36.5mm: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/cribsheet-spacing.html Hard to tell (and don't know the thread pitch)but looking at the amount of exposed threads the difference looks larger than 1.1mm in your photos. Do they both seat the same on the inside?

Ok. I'm an idiot. Not a good one either...
It is a Sunrace cassette. There are holes and keys to match the spacers and cogs. In the pic in my previous post shows the height difference, and that the 9 speed was off kilter...
I realized my mistake after slipping a different 9 speed cassette in place...
So. I am an idiot... Thanks for your input and patience!
