Help dating this 'Dale

This bikes dating on the bottom of the BB has ECBE 94 which indicates it was made in March 93. However the frame says 3.8 series which I understand only came later. It also has a level top tube which is odd for a 'Dale mtn bike. Any idea of which catalog would have this bike?

Early on most MTBs had a level top tube, depending on the size, but with the increase use of suspension most bikes ended up with a sloping TT.

1995 Cannondale Catalog link, Looks to be in the 1995 catalog, can't tell from your pics, but the catalog entry for the M400 that year had a metallic black, fade to deep jade green, paint colourway listed. Any hints that it is a repaint with different decals used?

Found a site called "Mombat" which indicated m400 frames with 3.8 series frames were mpade in 93. I couldn't find anything in the 93 or 94 catalogs with a level top tube, though. Thanks for your help. Ron
