Modern Road Bars
Okay, I just bought these bars, Cinelli Bianca Palm Bars. What I've noticed is there is a flattened, ergonomic portion near the stem, which looks like it's very comfortable and I look forward to using them.
What I want to know is, do I wrap that portion too? It looks like it's not necessary and may not add any more comfort.
All my bikes have had classic bars, so wrapping this area was necessary.
So, take a breath, count to ten and with tolerance answer my question, is you can.

Don't know, but I just posted to say that looks like an awesome bar. Flat on the top for invisible aerobars and a classic curve. All the other wing top bars I've seen have had ergo drops. This may be my next handlebar.

I've never liked the flat portion - feels wierd in the wrists. But yeah, you wrap it all the same as if it were round.

It's ultimately up to you. Some people wrap the flat section, some don't. By a couple sets of tape and experiment.
