Hola Homies!! This is Cyn from Vegas!!

Some of my favorite rides are those Garrett-Gang rides that are unofficial organized events. For the money we spend traveling and riding organized Century rides, I have grown to enjoy putting my cashola towards awesome ride with my homies....GARRETT STYLE!!

Here are a few rides that I would be interested in helping coordinate this year. They are all killer century rides plus.

1. Fixie Fisher and I are currently planning a ride to Nipton from Las Vegas sometime in January. Approx. 140 miles.

2. I have missed the Tour de Fire the last two years by no fault of my own...such as hitting a DEER on my bicycle two weeks before the event. I would like to do this ride in '09.

3. One of my favorite rides last year was climbing Angeles Crest w/ the Garrett's. I would like to go back and do this ride bottom-up, whether organized event or not.

4. I recently had the pleasure of riding Redlands CA. My host took me up to Jenks Lake past Forest and Angelus Oaks. As I understand, the route continues towards Big Bear and pretty certain this is the Breathless Agony ride in the KOM challenge.

5. I would like to see our local version of the Death Ride...which could easily be done by mapping out an H-Bomb of Mount Charleston, both Lee and Kyle Cyn and both sides of Deer Creek Pass. That would be a killer century ride.

Oh....and I have roll overs for doing the KOM in 2009. That damn mountain of rock jumped out at me on the Mulholland descent last year. So, put me down for:

May : Breathless Agony Century

May 23: Heartbreak Hundred

Add: April 11: Mulholland to your master list

Ok I am down for the Tour de Fire route --- yippee. That's a good one. No Angeles Crest til it warms up
Lets find a date and a secondary date in January.

I suggest January 4rd and January 25th.

Caporider is one FAST dude....he has earned the nickname "Hammerhead". :-)

Our first local Century ride has been determined....Sat. Jan. 10. We are going to be doing a Nipton loop. The route is LVB - I15 - Nipton Exit to Searchlight. Miles approx. 140+ I know that may be a lot, but we are sic like that and have been aching to do this ride!Ride details will be posted everywhere!!! lol

My spring '09 will be busy with KOM, but but some tentative travel plans that would be great to do as a group and even a group campout:

Death Ride - July
Cool Breeze - August
Angeles Crest - October

November I hope to be doing HooDoo on a team (Fixie, Hollywood, Metro Shellie and myself). :-)

That's cool - But I need a modified version for those that cannot roll 140 miles So if you send it over -- I can subtract 39 miles

How about 126 miles?? It's only 26 more than 100!!! I mapped the route this morning. The route is St. Rose Pkwy to LVB - LVB out to Jean - Jump on the I15 to Nipton - Nipton Road to Searchlight -95N Back to Henderson. Elevation gain is only 5500 for this ride. :-)

The only place to cut out miles in this ride is eliminating the 20 city miles. Riders could start their ride at some determined place on LVB/St. Rose, but the return from Searchlight is thru BC back to Henderson with no alternate route. The only way to void those city miles is to have a car at each spot...making for a 106 mile ride.

This is definitely a great ride for those who like to just get out and pedal...as there are simply 5 turns in the route once you get out of town.

Nipton Loop tentatively scheduled for Jan. 10 is CANCELLED due to the bike lane being closed for two-years (thank you Caporider for your investigative work). So, we'll spin another century around the hood somewhere.

February: Jeffrey and I are wanting to ride Tour de Palm Springs. Any takers?

Sure will -- We did that ride last year - cant believe I forgot to add it. Besides freezing to near death the morning of the ride - it turned out to be a great day - it warmed up to around 60 I believe. BUT the highlight of the ride was the CAKE at the lunch stop - yummy My friends that rode a little slower missed out on it. Thanks for the reminder and plz keep me posted on other Arizona rides......

ps.......love those yellow and purple socks -

I have a friend who LIKES to ride from Redlands up to Big Bear. I swore I'd never do that. However, after I rode from my home in San Jacinto, up to lake Hemet, it may not be so bad. Maybe next year when I start logging more hills. My ride was 52 miles round trip and I was not ready for it. It had a rise of 3,500 feet to the summit. It didn't look that step on Google Earth.

I love the coast route. A friend and I rode from Santa Barbara to San Diego, stayed in motels. I know, softy. My favorite ride so far. We went through Oceanside on the way. The ride up the hill at Torey Pines, just south of Carlsbad was pretty steep but manageable. Give me the California coast routes any day. Went from Oregon to San Francisco, took 10 days. Now I just need two more legs to complete the Canada to Mexico run. Got to go from San Francisco to Santa Barbara and then Canada to California border.
