IDK paint type... Car paint? Rattlecan Enamel? No clearcoat is all I can tell. It's slightly metallic, laid down well, but a little rough, as if nozzle was too far away, or coat was a bit too thin, like not "wet" enough.
Is acetone spilled a little at a time on a rag, then rubbed like mad on the frame considered "normal practice"???

The link gives you an idea about how tough the epoxy is. Those conditions will be difficult to recreate, and outside of a containment vessel, any acetone you use will evaporate before it can do much of anything to the Epoxy. Hopefully, the bike frame wasn't properly prepped, and the spray enamel should come off before you damage a clear coat too much.

The paint stripper is a bad idea for cf. It will cause the matrix to break down and failure is almost a given at some point in time. CF is pretty tough as long as there are no scars or cuts in it. Finishes can be sanded off with 400/600/1000 grit papers with care being taken to just remove the paint layers. Tedious and time consuming but will allow for a good repaint. After all of the sanding a quick wipe down with acetone to clean off oils and debris and it will be ready to paint. Smiles,MH

Like New Schwinn Paramount 50 cm - $650 (Seattle)
Absolutely pristine 1987 USA made Schwinn Paramount. It's 50 cm or a hair smaller, metallic pink, and perfect. This is not the Japanese made Paramount (though those are also nice), it is the top-of-the-line Waterford made Paramount. On top of that, its new enough to have reasonably modern components . Save for a couple faint marks you wouldn't think this has ever been ridden. Look on EBAY, these regularly go for $1000+ and rival new bikes.
