Park Tool PCS-9 cheap quick release DIY
Hey guys, if this is in the wrong section please let me know or a mod can move it.
This is regarding my Park Tool PCS-9 bike repair stand. One thing I found was lacking on this stand was height adjustment.
I made the mistake of buying the Park Tool 106-AC collar but found it a flawed design so I researched into what the better Park Tool bike stands have as a height adjustable collar and modified my original PCS-9 collar for quick release.
All it took was a seat post clamp quick release skewer and a few minutes of my time.
I figured I'd share this in case somebody else want this easy to do feature.
:-)

I had an old seat clamp and followed your instructions and it works perfectly. I didn't have a spring but apparently mine works great without it.
Thanks again for some great advice.

No problem, glad it was able to help somebody :-).
The spring I don't think will have much benefit since the QR shaft is all threaded and tight in the plastic. I haven't noticed a difference with or without it.

I happen to have a PCS-9 and an extra seatpost QR. I'll have to give this a shot. Thanks for sharing!

I found the head rotation tends to stick , though with a Lever , like the bike in it
they will move , just step 1 is un sticking it, then rotating it next , then clamping it, re sticking it .

The head rotation, as in the bike clamp? If so, I find it really annoying and I have the same thing that I deal with.
