I'd like to sneak in a nap at lunch but I'll probably go to the LBS to see about ordering another OP rim to replace the one I found a big crack in yesterday.

And you know your job sucks when you'd rather be at the dentist. That will cost me more than the wheel, I'm sure.

He had a good day this week but then too many visitors put him back down.
They have requested no one come to see him for a while.

His recovery will take 6 months or more to get back to 100% they said. We will probably not have a boss in the office for a few more weeks.

It's a hell of a weight loss plan too. I went from 185 to 154 in 2 weeks. Best of luck to him. Taking it waaay easy is the key to recovery.

Just got informed that our part of the company may soon be subject to some restructuring. As a contractor that's bad. However, I got the news while being told that I was on the short list for lead modeling engineer in the other part of the company that does what we do. Slight job change, more responsibility, probably higher wage (relative, it would be permanent instead of contract).

Downside are that it will piss off my current boss a little bit to lose me, and he's a nice guy, and I wouldn't have as much freedom. Upside is that it's more secure, more important, and better run. Our side of the work is kinda seat of the pants. They're much more structured over there.

Before his record breaking ride, Bobridge was forced to watch as fellow South Australian Rohan Dennis posted the second fastest time in history with 4mins 13.399seconds during his heat.
Dennis' time broke the Australian, Australian Championship and the All Comers record for fastest time on Australian soil, set by Bobridge in his gold medal ride in the pursuit final at the 2010 National Championships in Adelaide.
Imagine how Dennis felt: Well, that should be fast enough for first. Oh, crap!

I like it. I always liked the Liquigas colors but didn't care for the assymetric designs they've had.

I've just been using Prospect Park this winter. No car traffic to run me over and my route to and from the park is pretty safe. I load up a bunch of podcasts and get some fresh air/exercise while riding in circles for hours. When it gets nice there are too many people and no reason to head for a park for a long ride, but right now I am loving that we have access to CP and PP.

I rode to work this morning. Talk about stupid. Honestly it was fine except for incredible coatings of ice on the two bridges I have to cross. Probably could have ridden them but I'd rather not break any bones. A nutty bike messenger passed me as I walked down the QBB. He had 23mm tires and was relying on them to break through the ice for traction. Looked like he was surfing. No thanks! Brave and impressive, but dumb.

I'm really happy with the way they turned out. My instruction to the designer (www.sfattoclothing.com) was Liquigas but reversed colors and more traditional. I think he nailed it.

5 weeks from when I sent in the check to when I received the box of kits too.

Finished the shoveling went inside for soup. Snow plows came by and buried the driveway and took out the mailbox.

Sigh...

I've experienced that while digging my car out of a parking spot.

Bridges get tricky in the winter because their surfaces freeze pretty quickly. I'm not sure if the GWB is open now but it's been closed last weekend due to the snow and ice. If I had a park to do laps in I'd be more inclined to ride outside but it's just too much of a mess commuting when you factor in traffic on already narrow streets due to the mounds of snow between the lane and parked cars. I have a coworker who's been riding in but he mainly rides the greenway between Harlem and Midtown so it's not a bad commute.

Leased a PO Box for the next three months. I'm not going to fight the snow plows. Later tonight I will pour two fingers of JD prepare dinner and relax. Shoveling done. TSS 4.5. Advil before bed and Yoga in the morning. But if the wife sends me another video of the whales breaching off the coast of HI I may lose it.

Going to watch Chasing Legends at the cinema tonight. I've heard mostly good reviews and the trailer looks pretty rad so I'm looking forward to it. Going with my gf and a few riding + racing pals so it should be a good time. Plus I will eat some M&M's.

It's an entertaining movie. Not sure I'd pay to watch it though.

Fair enough. It's a pretty small production company doing a pretty niche film so I don't mind throwing a few bucks at it.
