A load of classic fun. Difficult to view and not much of description. No twin plate fork crown but still has the classic fillet brazed frame. Arai drag brake. Hopefully has the Mafac Criterium brakeset. TA chainset. Suntour + barcons. Cali made. Bid or BIN $950

I can't imagine seeing it still available in 2017 without it first ending up in my garage!

Rare Detel Legend 4000
Detel bicycles were made in Green Bay Wisconsin for a short time in 1985.
The lugged frame uses Ishiwata 022 triple butted tubes (.9-.6-.9 mm) from Japan
Ishiwata tubing, lugged .... and made in Green Bay Wisconsin according to the ad, a Detel bike.

Detel bicycles were made in Green Bay Wisconsin for a short time in 1985.
The lugged frame uses Ishiwata 022 triple butted tubes (.9-.6-.9 mm) from Japan.

Right now, there is a thread on page 1 here on double butted Ishiwata 022. https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...ed-tubing.html

You never know what is going to show up next; honestly. $150.

Seller should come here if they already don't.

Detel selling at budget bicycle center for $650; okay, they price their bikes exorbitantly, still a bit interesting. That left crank arm per the pictures looks like it has a big crack in it! https://www.budgetbicyclectr.com/1985...d-bicycle.html

Raleigh Super Course 60 cm
Only $100, some work needed.

---------------------

Raleigh Nottingham Competition, $500.
Raleigh Competition GS Reynolds531

Some sort of Carlton with Reynolds 531 butted tubing, looks like it lost most of it's water slide decals which on many of those bikes I think were poorly done.

Here's one one doesn't see often as well,

a Performance Blue Ridge!

1980s Performance Blue Ridge Sport Touring Bike, Single Speed, 58cm

And turned into a single speed, so that makes the asking price a bit too high for me.

The repaint is advantageous to people who wants to enjoy riding a nice frame without worrying about undue depreciation due to wear and tear. At the same time, one enjoys the appearance of a beautiful bike instead of looking at paint chips, scratches, and other imperfections. That aesthetic enjoyment is a significant part of the riding experience.

I was recently offered a perfect condition 1980's Cinelli which I did not buy because it has now become a wall hanger. It has been unused for over 30 years and will likely remain so forever.

I would be a likely buyer for this repainted 3Rensho if I haven't already acquired 3 bikes in the last three months. I would like to first enjoy riding these recent acquisitions.

For reference I had a buddy who is in the market for a bike call this guy within 4 hours of it being posted originally. He asked my friend if he wanted to beat the best off he had currently. My friend sadly didn't have $420 necessary to take this bike home.
