I was wondering, are craiglist sellers mostly interested in local sales?
+1 Hence the reason they are selling locally. If they were willing/interested in shipping, they would be selling on fleebay. Too bad too, as it is no big deal packing up parts.
I have been trying ti get in touch with this seller since I saw this posting, but he will not get back tome!

Also if you are not going for a local pickup, how do you esnure that the user will send the item?
You don't, unless you have a friend pick the bike or parts up for you. See earlier wild wild west comment. The beauty of C/L is that it is easy and free. The bad news is that there are no protections for buyers or sellers, except doing deals in a public place in person, if you want ebay type protections, then you have to step up to all the fees and usually higher prices.
