What can I use to replace my spent fibre washer on Benelux Mk7 (down-tube) shifter assembly?

fibre washers are frequently employed in plumbing fittings

if you cannot locate the exact size needed at your local hardware or building supply store the next step would be to visit a plumbing supply

Thanks, Juv. I'll pop in to the plumbing store. I'm not sure what the thickness is, but I'm thinking maybe 1mm or less. Chrisbertwhistle, over in England, has a drawer full of 1950 original ones N.O.S., and he's selling them cheap as chips, but I wanted to find a temporary fix.

You should be able to get 100 6mm x10mm x1mm for under 10 bucks.
