Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You know what's really stupidest of all? Torrential downpours and thunderstorms making you put off your morning run until after breakfast digests, so you log onto work early... only to discover that India is out because of a cyclone, so you don't even get more time working with them.

I'm playing hooky today to go buy a new (to me) vehicle. Picking up a 2011 Dodge Nitro. Funny that I was able to talk my wife into that, but a new bicycle cycle is beyond me.

And I've been running compact for years, even when I had an FTP of 270. For me, all it meant was I liked to spin 100+.

After doing some hill climbs last season, I realized that 40 rpm is all good and fine for strength workouts, but isn't super conducive to getting up the hill quickly.

I think that's also part of my issue. Due to the higher cadence work I've been doing, I feel like I'm churning butter under 85 or so.

No Eagles, but they do have Red-tails and Peregrines in those canyons.

We have scheduled a Bermuda cruise out of the NJ cruise terminal next June.

I use 165 cranks (52x36) and always been a high spinner. I had two indoor sessions yesterday and one was 95 rpm for 36 minutes and the second was 75 minutes at 98 rpm.

I think cadence is genetic.
