Who Got Buzzed?
Just wondering how many of you have gone in, or will go in for a buzz cut (clippers) this summer, i've been doing it almost every summer i can remember. Just got back from the barber's now and my GF wasn't crazy about the idea so i went with the #4 on top (1/2") and #2 on the sides, though last summer i went with #2 on the top and #1 on the sides, and WHEW, that was so short i had to put sun screen on my head for the first couple of days

I've worn a buzz cut for years -- it's just too practical. However, today I decided that it's all coming off. I saw myself in a wedding video and even buzzed, it still looks pitiful. After I get home tonight, it will be gone.

I'm pretty bald already, but I have one nice, almost ZZ-Top beard! It ain't very aero, but my wife likes it. (She doesn't like my shaved legs, btw. I hope that I never have road rash on my face!)

I can't remember the last time I got a haircut. My hair is about shoulder length, and I wear it in a pony tail when I ride. It doesn't get to warm around here, so that's not usually a problem, and living in SF it's not like I stand out. When I was in college at UC Davis I had a buzz cut during the summer. Maybe I'll do it again this summer, but my wife would freak.
I don't like to spend any time styling my hair, so the only 2 styles that work are very short or very long.

My better half prefers my hair a little longer. We have a deal whereby I can get it cut really short before my brevet in late July.

Its liberating and sanitary. All that time I spent
grooming my head fur for the last 45 years I will
never get back. The past two with the No-maintanance
monkey-buzz has been great and that time spent on
much better stuff like sleeping and Tv !

i tried the self done thing here at home with the #4 clippers... didn't go so well, i don't mind giving someone 13$ every two months for someone to do a good job.

I'm working on my second pair of clippers. No guard, blade set as low as it'll go. No more than 2 weeks between cuts. I haven't paid for a hair cut in well over a decade, wish it would all just fall out so I could be done with it.

I've been using the #2 (1/4") since I started back into cycling. I don't think I have any reason to go back to the barber again...

For the best of both worlds, I 'surprised' my hair a couple of weeks ago with trimmers on 'kill'. Now I'll let it grow out at it's usual lack of speed, so I'm well insulated come the frost. Yep. Once a year haircuts, that's the ticket.

I started to lose my hair about two years ago so I just take down to lowest on the clippers every Friday. Bought some decent clippers and do it myself. I was shaving my head for awhile but it's way too much work. The wifey likes the short/shaved look anyway.

Wore it that way into Desert Storm but had to come to grips by then that it was receding, and the high and tight was getting...tighter.
Sometime shortly after getting out of the Air Force in 93 I gave up and bought my first set of clippers.
I was 26, and truth be told if you look at pictures you can track the "recession" back probably 8 years prior to that.
I really have thought about electrolysis.

I was about to buzz it a month ago, but my wife freaked. So I got a pretty short cut at the barber. At this point I am real close to just trying the #1 on the clippers I own and see how it goes.
