Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Super six 105 vs Caad10 ultegra- which one is better?

Which is better , this would be my first carbon bike if I pick it, and first ultegra if choose that one. What other bikes in the 2000$ range? Thanks

I was looking at a Synapse Carbon 5 105 ($2,000). It was a great bike - very smooth and very comfortable.

I'd lean towards the SuperSix 105. Carbon frames ride smoother and quieter.
The new 105 group is very nice and you can always start to make upgrades as you go (e.g. a new set of wheels, group set later on etc.)

Try both and see what you think? You may also find that you can grab a 2013 Cervelo R3 105 for about that same money.

I'd say frame before group. Get the SS. Though nothing wrong with the caad.

I rode both extensively, chose a CAAD10 over the cheap Super Six frame.

I say test ride them all and then ride them all again! I was in the same situation as you not to long ago wanting a new carbon road bike and a budget hovering around $2,000 I test rode a Madone 4, Scott Cr1, Scott Solace, Domane 4, Giant tcr, Gt Attack, Diamondback Podium, Roubaix sl4, Tarmac, Supersix Evo, Synapse, and the list goes on... I couldn't decide on a bike and a salesman said hey how about a Caad10? I bypassed the Caad's because they were aluminum but he pulled out a Black Inc. in a 60cm and said "take her for a ride" I instantly knew it was the bike for me. Sold! You might feel the same way about a different bike, it may be carbon, it might not? Don't rush it, ride them all a couple times and go with your gut (or butt)!

Life's short, reward yourself on your b-day with a sweet ride. As other have said, test ride both then pick the CAAD10.

Frames are made to last forever, components are meant to be upgraded. Super6.

This thread topic has cropped up a bit recently and for mine - even though I own 2 x CAAD10s - I'd opt for the carbon framed SuperSix.

Either way though, you will not be disappointed - buy whichever one you like the look / feel of the most.

cheers
