Haven’t walked in 6 weeks grrrrr!
Not feeling sorry for myself or looking for sympathy just venting! I want to be back on my bikes I can put pressure on my foot but not enough to walk hopefully in a few more weeks! I miss my fix of endorphins I get from bike riding but now I’m going insane When recovered I will be glad I had my foot surgery but today I am stir crazy! Time for some original Van Halen and of course my favorite AC/DC and some cold beer! Now y’all get out and ride those bikes!

Answer: what machines are for. Even if you can't cycle. I had a callous once where the pain was excruciating every time I ride. It was funny because you'd think cycling could be easier than walking but it was just the opposite. It was like having a hot tack in you shoe that would stick you unpredictably.
I finally had enough and went to the podiatrist who fixed it on the spot, and gave me some comfortable insoles that made my life livable again. I walked out with a Cheshire cat's grin on my face. So even if you can't ride you can still do other things to burn some energy. Anyway, get well soon.

So how’s it going now Hondo?
I don’t know about you but this recovery stuff is totally cramping my style. I’m at 2 months and am in need of something else. 6 more weeks until the next doctors visit when I should be released for riding outdoors and possibly a full golf swing. I think I’ve already walked around the earth once.

That's a good question. I don't know what your sitch is Hondo, but when I was off my foot and on crutches I was losing my mind. Finally I said screw it and starting walking my regular route on crutches. You can get a good full-body workout as long you're willing to look like a dork going up and down the street on crutches, which I am. (Looking like a dork is a natural talent of mine.) PROTIP: A pair of rubber crutch tips lasts about five miles on pavement, so get some spares.

(With me it was a sprained ankle. I wore a split and a heavy boot then held that foot behind me as I crutched.)

I’m just a few weeks behind you. Haven’t walked or ridden since Labor Day. (Ironically my last time on my bike was riding to and from BIDMC.)
Anyhow, I’m now the town dork. Over 300 km “walking” around greater Boston since. My “scooter” has a light but no bell.
Rod took a shot of me during the Minuteman Bikeway celebration:

Yes that is a cool scooter to do you’re scooting on. That is serious foot cast.

Week 10 can finally semi walk more light hobbling but I’m bipedal. Foot swells up so short walks, all the incisions are closed it just feels like a bruised foot.

On the brightest side, I’ve now “walked” over 250 miles.

Is this from your planter fibromatosis?
I was just looking that up on Wiki ... that sux!
Sounds like you're actually doing quite well, all things considered.
