For those of you living near Bay City, MI, there is an on-line auction house called 1bid.us in the area. They have "Vintage" bikes fairly often. The kind of bikes that would make a fun project. Like this one [LINK] that sold for $8. I actually went to the warehouse and looked at a few items, and this was actually a nice old bike. Steel, but not heavy. If I had room in the car, I would have put in a bod for at least $10, and taken it back to Atlanta (just visiting family on vacation).
Most of the bikes are "meh", but there are a few bits of treasure to be had. And you can actually drive over to the warehouse and look at something before you bid on it.
