Breezer Citizen generator stuck

Just bought a Breezer and can't pivot the generator toward the tire. I'm old enough to have had generators before and they all moved when you pushed. This one doesn't, and I don't see any release button or whatever other release mechanism might exist. I can pull it toward me (away from the frame) but not toward the tire. It snaps back to center when I release it. The bracket is not bent, everything appears to be as the factory installed it.

i'd suspect what you're calling "center"is actually the ENGAGED position and it's adjusted poorly..

maybe. I thought of that already. I will look again, but that's why I mentioned the bracket wasn't bent. I don't see any adjustments in the direction of the tire. I can adjust it up or down, selecting where on the tire it will rub. The other thing, although I can pull it toward me, it doesn't lock in place (ie in the off/disengaged position). If it did I would bend the bracket and have a solution.

i'd guess that some mechanical engineer eliminated your choice of off or on for you... for"safety"..

Solution: replace the offending part with one that allows a choice.... or make the one you have work somehow.... add more drag to the swing range after making the drive wheel actually contact the tire... Red Locktite is your friend.

Is there a button on the bottom, roughly below the word "Duo?"

You say you just bought the bike. Have you asked the dealer (or previous owner if bought used) about the generator adjustment?

Just push it down, not in, and it will spring over. Pull out to release and it clicks into place. If it doesn't, try squirting some light lube up into the hinge. If it doesn't press against the tyre hard enough you'll have to bend the bracket.

That what I was looking for ... the trick!
I was hoping to find someone that either owned one, or worked on one.
TYVM! I've got lights!

Bob

ps. bought it used, fixed it up and now it's going back on the market.
