Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had a 99 Accord (green) that the AT failed at 265,000. I sold it for $700 in 90 minutes after listing it on CL.

My Civic is on it's last cylinder and i'm thinking about a new Subaru. Actually I should of bought the car first instead of the bike.... but then I wouldn't be the "kewl" guy on the road.

Wow 265,000 miles on a car!!!

So far I have a 6 year old car with only 29,000 miles. I think it will rot out long before it wears out. I might have some extra cheddar then for a second bike! Even if I drove 5,000 miles a year and the car would last to 265,000 miles, I could potentially have the car for over 53 years!!

I have 300K miles on my full-size van.

Ironically, I don't drive much either...it had 240K on it when I bought it 14 years ago!

I'm going down tomorrow to put my deposit on a Emonda SLR frameset. My palms are sweating just thinking about writing that check!

That's a good sign! May I be the first to congratulate you on your new bike.

R1 is nice, got to have the head to ride it. Not me. I'd crash. Not that that's the worst thing that could happen. Imagine a supercharged R1.

I'm going to wait until they both become available and then get several test rides in before getting too serious. Personaly, I like Aluminum bikes. I'm not a carbon bike kind of guy.

I'd be afraid of a dent from a flick with a CAAD >= 10! CAAD 10's are notorious with mechanics for dents from even mounting on the stand from the seat-tube.
