We're gonna need a separate shoe forum if this keeps up. Maybe we can get Carrie Bradshaw to moderate it.

That's the point! I prefer eye-searing.

I wonder if this jersey would go well with it...

Dang. Even Doc is getting into the shoe craze! If I could still ride, I wouldn’t fit it with my boring white shoes!

Spring is finally going to arrive in my neck of the woods. Made campground reservations for Friday and Saturday. Going to shove some mileage down my throat in preparation for my early June tour that will feature a stop at my 35th high school reunion during a two-week trip from St. Albans, VT to Philly.

Spring! We skipped spring and went straight to summer... high of 92 today.

Probably more accurate to say we had no winter, I didn't turn the heat on one time this winter. I was tempted a few times, but never did.

Full disclosure: I have the glaringly purple Giro Code Techlace Grinduro because most online sellers are blowing them out on clearance, and Competitive Cyclist just happened to still have a pair of my size in stock. The "normal" colors are still hovering around $300 a pair, and that is just not gonna happen. I also only bought them because as wonderful a shoe as the Diadora X-Pro is, I was absolutely beating them to hell on fire trail / singletrack rides. So now they live only for pavement, and the Giros are given the task of surviving off-road nonsense.

Plus, I figured two bikes, I can probably justify two pairs of shoes.

No size 48. Not for me either! I have to wonder how reflective.

Pretty damn reflective. A better question might be how long it lasts. The bike shop dude was demonstrating the reflectiveness to me when I bought my pinarello in January. I definitely want a pair for night riding!

I saw these earlier today - for another hour and a half they're only $137 at westernbikeworks... and plenty reflective. I bought a garmin 520 for $212 instead since I need that worse.

I *will* get them, oh yes I will. I'm fully bought into the school of "too much is not enough" when it comes to nighttime visibility.

After being smacked SO damn hard in November, I'm probably not going to be doing much/any night time riding for ... the foreseeable future. With the firefighters saying 9/10 people hit like you would be dead, the girl is understandably nervous.

I ride my MTB more at night, I don't really like being on the streets after work unless commuting the short 9 miles, even then I'll hop on the MTB dirt trails 3 miles from work and spit out 1 mile from home, 16 miles this way or 9 mile pure pave.
