Remember I asked about sleeving cables under the BB? No? Well, after spraying lube, dry and wet, along the exposed path and working the FD by hand, it was still sticking, so I replaced the cable and sleeved it. Now it’s like a new system.
The FD cable runs in the bottom slot from right to left and through the window in the tab. It all looks pretty smooth, but it must bind somewhere. It came sleeved, but I took it off when I replaced the cables a month ago.

No, it doesn’t touch there. I just hope the happy shifting lasts for a while. The cables are a pain in the ass on that bike. You have the same guide, if I’m not mistaken.

I think I’ve had to charge it maybe 5 times this summer. So pretty good. The Varia usually runs out of juice before the 530, so I charge them both at the same time

It's about an equal pain in the ass compared to the Domane, which is the only other internally routed frame that I've worked with. The FD wasn't horrible, but the RD was a bit of a pain. And yeah, same cable guide.

This works well for me, but I upgraded from the Edge 500, so it was a big difference. Not sure why,other than the fact I was able to snag mine for under $200.00. I do have an issue connecting to my phone, but I'm not really trying too hard. My watch is my connection to the other world, if need be.

The liner tubing makes it a lot easier. It also occurs to me I might have somehow gotten the front and rear cables crossed inside the BB, but it seems unlikely.

Beautiful! I, unfortunately, can no longer eat (modern) wheat. I've read that they changed the formula, within the past 40 years, for higher production, at the expense of nutrition. It is bad for my skin and possibly my energy levels

A little bit of both. I realize that it's out of warranty, but it's close and it's also a problem that should fall under defect, IMO. Also, some of the features on the Garmin 530 (like the color screen, on-board nav, ANT+ light control, etc) are making the Bolt look dated. I think that the Wahoo Roam is more on par, but that's also $150 more than the Bolt and $80 more than the 530.
I'm looking into getting a GPS for next season and the two main contenders are the Bolt and 530. The additional nav features on the Garmin look nice but it looks like you can get most of the same functionality using a phone with the Bolt? I can see the actual street names being super handy in an urban environment, but out here in the boonies it's probably not something I would miss a lot.
Plus I'd need to get a bluetooth/ANT heart rate monitor, so that kind of makes me lean towards the Bolt.
I do like that the 530 is a bit more low-profile, though.
