you can use post restante, you used to be able to get it shipped to a post office and collect at any point upto two weeks and they would store it. Now you need to have permission so would need to be staying somewhere for a few days, get permission from postal office and then order it (using quickest method possible), then go collect with appropriate id i.e. passport.

Make sure the stuff you want is in stock.

If it's bike gear Chain Reaction Cycles and Wiggle are great on-line stores with overnight delivery service in the UK

Yes call them but ask to speak to Manager. Might not work though, so you may have to select a post office go in and see them and then may be do a loop tour (or wait i.e. stay at campsite) for the goods to arrive.

You never used to need permission, I had used it all the time, last year had stuff sent to north coast of scotland, did a 100 mile detour to get it and post office lady said she sent it back as I did not have permission.

Stood there faced with what she did I wanted to lose my temper and unload and vent and call her all the names. But kept my gob shut and checked the rules. She was in her right so would have been bad on me venting.

Regardless I think it sucks for the odd occasion I need something sending out when I'm on tour. I can understand abroad, but in my own country and a citizen, well bonkers but nowt I can do but play be them.

Rules had changed apparantently, some post offices will accept but best to check.
