So last year I picked up a Motobecane Vent Noir frame/fork set from Bike Island to upgrade my old Trek 1000. Really nice Kinesis set. I rode it for a while before I came across a pseudo-family member selling a Trek 5200 US Postal bike for $200 with Mavic Ksyrium Elites, full Ultegra/DA, and Bontrager Blade CF bars; I snapped that up to use the parts on my Vent Noir. When I saw it, though, I decided to ride it because it was really cool. A couple of weeks back, the forks cracked. Last week, cracks started showing up where the chain-stays meet the BB shell, and I could hear it creaking. So, I moved all the parts onto my Vent Noir. Here it is now, I think it looks really sweet:
It needs new brake cables (the ones I moved over are too short) and to be put in front of your garage door shifted to the big chainring and small cog for a better picture, this was taken minutes after tightening everything down except the brake cables.

What do you think of the ride? I am thinking about getting a Synapse carbon 5 or 6.

I still can't get over the fact that there is a bike is on top of a TV (well, part of it anyway).

Just had my 2004 Bianchi Axis frame stripped and re-painted by a local frame painter. I was never crazy about the checkered flag design, and it also had a couple of corrosion spots I wanted to repair. I will be building the bike back up in the next few weeks. Here's a few pics.

Last week after watching a small drama unfold on CL, I ended up picking up a 1990 Trek 1000. Other than swapping out rims, I'm leaving it more or less original. I rode one similar (year newer, better components & different color) in college.

Do you use that bag while riding, or is it just hold the bike up?
Is it meant as a saddle bag/spoiler maybe?
Sorry I just never seen something like that on a bicycle.
Sort of reminds me of those big box stores that sold those "Kawasaki/X-game" bikes with the plastic fairings.
Dirtbike/motocross looking bicycles.
Don't get me wrong, I like your bike, Im sort of biased when it comes to Giant.

My favorite Ebay seller had one for auction, so I bid on it and won. I'm pretty happy with the Selle Italia SL I have on my roadbike. The Tioga was going on my folder/commuter which had a Selle Italia C2 gel that I din't like. When I 1st took it out of the box, it seemed very stiff. No give at all when I press on it. But after a few rides and some adjustments, I like it. I'm around 200 lbs. and I think the saddle weighed 145 grams on my scale. Make sure you don't get a fake one. Better to pay a bit more for the real thing:
