Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's finally happening.

After 5 long months, I'm finally building up my Litespeed Icon.

Here it is in the stand awaiting the wheels and cables.

It's a generic carbon stem from the LBS. I bought it a few years back when I bought the bars. It's a Forzza Cicliste (https://forzzaimports.com/).

Yeah, going full Rival. As for wheels, I'm building up some Velocity A23s laced to White Industries T11s.

Gave it a pre-wheel weigh and it comes in at 10.20 lbs as pictured. I don't imagine there will be much more than another 5-6 lbs going on with wheels, tires/tubes, cassette, cables/housing, and bartape.

Not the lightest bike ever, but still better than what I have now and I'm not really going for a WW build. Especially being around 165lbs.

I'm going out of town this weekend, but hopefully everything will be in by Monday and I'll be able to finish it off.

Lookin great, I'd like to see those wheels when done. You might not be going for WW but I'd bet that combo will be pretty sweet.

Imagine how I must feel. I bought the frame back in September, "ordered" the parts in October, actually ordered the parts on Monday, and now just waiting for the last few things to show up.

It better be ready or I'm not riding. I had to take stuff off of my current bike to build this one.

Got the wheel parts built into wheel-shaped objects (only have a pic of the front). Tomorrow I get the wiggles and hops out of them and hopefully finish the build.

It's done! Such a nice ride! The 25s are almost too big in the back, so after these wear out I'll switch to 23s.

Just out of curiosity, what angle is that stem? It looks like about a -10? It looks exactly right with that top tube.
