Buying a folding bike! :D
Hi everyone,
I have around a $200-$350 range on folding bikes, and, after browsing the possible bike choices, I have narrowed them down to two:
Downtube 8FS (Best low cost suspension folding bicycle in the USA)
Ford by Dahon Tarus 2.0 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A3DAUKLI117EHF)
I would appreciate any insight for either bike, your experiences with them, and any suggestions of another bike. I'd also be open to buying a used bike!
Background info: I plan on using it for mainly recreational use in NYC, but it may go up to a more regular use if I transfer to an NYC job.

The Dahon Ford Taurus bikes are very low end Dahon folders. I ordered one of their Ford bikes off of Amazon, and I sent it back a few days later. I was quite disappointed with it. Go with the Downtube bike. The Downtube folder has a much better frame & parts. It's a fantastic bargain.

Check out NYC Craigslist; there's some Dahons and a Downtube for sale there:

if you want new, go for the Downtube you are thinking of. alot of the reviews have been positive here about Downtube. That Dahon is basically the lowest end Dahon Boardwalk models. If you go Dahon get their better higher end stuff.

+1 Downtube unless you want a bike to practice your mechanical skills on, then buy used.
