Curious - What did you do with your old road bike once you upgraded to a new one?

Throw the stick!!!!
I generally keep my most recent frame and turn it into my back up bike. I then sell my previous back up frame. I generally move the better components to my new bike and the components from the back up bike get moved to the new back up bike.

Race bike, rain bike, trainer bike, 'century' bike, tt bike, state park bike.....
I actually sold one last year to a friend, though. If you see my wife, make sure you mention that.

I rotated bike parts through ebay. I normally keep wheelsets, groupsets etc and transfer them to the next bike. I sold my last Look frameset on ebay, bought a Roubaix SL3 Pro frameset and transfered components from my Look. Bikes are an evolution to me and like most bike addicts, I change different parts if I find something I like better. If you buy right, the hobby isn't too expensive but could be.

Depends on why I upgraded in the first place.
If I really liked the old bike I'll usually turn it into a rain/long commutes/dirt roads bike.
If I wasn't very attached it usually gets parted or sold on ebay.

I keep the good ones. Right now, there are only 2. I sold the others. I have 1 CF framed bike, and 1 steel.

I always keep one back up. I'm getting a new bike shortly and I have to admit I'm not trying real hard to sell one of the two.
