Ever given away a bike?
My nephew got my 1993 Concorde Squadra TSX today. That bike has seen some UCI sanctioned stage races. It has period correct DA7400 group and a carbon fork that replaced the old steel one. Gonna miss it. Last two years it's seen trainer duty exclusively. I'm a bit sad today.

Yep, I gave a Novara Safari away to a bike shop that then gave it to some person who couldn't afford a bike.

No, but I sold someone I knew my Schwinn Crisscross hybrid for $25. I could have sold it for more somewhere else, but he wanted a bike and I was going with the theory that sometimes people treat things better when some of their own money's involved no matter how little.

Gave my old steel frame bike away to someone who didn't know if cycling was for her... gave it to her with the understanding that it would have to be replaced due to rust.
She replaced it a month later... still rides! Win!

Very nice of you. I "loaned" my first bike to a buddy several years ago. Haven't seen it since, but he rides the crap out of it and I wouldn't, so it's all good.

As set up for my nephew. Flat pedals, zero setback post, 100mm stem, new chainrings, brake pads. He is shorter than I am and inexperienced, so he gets a french fit.

1975 Raleigh Grand Prix. To my dad, this year for his birthday( He's 59 this year). He used to ride when in his teens/twenties. Said he remembered when the Raleigh came out, but he couldn't afford it at the time. He's been riding it to work ever since, even built a trainer so he could ride at night (doesn't want to get on the road when it's dark).

An old roommate of mine left his 1994 Trek 930 behind. We were both back and forth overseas for several years. One day I said "Hey, is this your bike?". It was. He told me to keep it. It is my size.
Fast forward a few years. I retired from the military after 21 years of service. I needed a physical outlet other than running. I started riding that bike. In a few months I switched to road bikes. Now I've gone over 4k miles in the last ten months, built ten sets of wheels and several bikes.
A friend of mine has put on some serious pounds after retiring from the service five years ago. He rode many years ago but can't handle the bent over road bike or mountain bike position. I swapped the stem and bars for something more relaxed on the 930 and I'll give it to him for his birthday in a couple weeks.
Someone gave it to me, now I'm giving it away.

I pulled a bike out of the trash at my friend's house. His brother was throwing it away as it had so many (minor) issues. It was a late 80s Trek 1400 (IIRC) that was too big for me but I figured I'd find a good home for it. So I fixed it all up (new cable and housing all over, trued the wheels, greased and adjusted all the bearings, etc.) and soon after it was done I got an email from my friend's brother asking for the bike back. So I gave it back.
Fast forward a year and I'm back at my friend's house and see the bike sitting in his shed. I am told that it hasn't been touched since I gave it back. I got in touch with another friend who was looking for a bike that size and struck up a deal to get it back, for a 30 pack of cheap beer.

I gave my older Cannondale SC600 with Campy Chorus 9-speed group, Mavic SUP wheels, Syncros stem and post, Ritchey bars and Sella Italia saddle to my close friend who needed a bike to ride and keep his head on straight.

Spent some time trying to find an adult trike for a homeless guy who has brain damage issues that causes him to frequently fall off the Wal-Mart cruiser he was riding. (Yes, I'm aware those issues quite probably come out of a bottle but I try not to judge).
By the time I got a line on one he disappeared. I still keep my eyes open when I'm around the marina.

In 1988, I saved my money for about 4 months to buy my older sister a 1986 or 7 Lotus Prestige. She was graduating from Cornell, and I felt generous. And it matched my '85 or '86 Prestige.
In 2009, I gave my Prestige to a friend. His kids rode, he would walk behind them, and I wasn't riding then. I started riding seriously again one year later.
In 2010, I gave the cheap Diamondback hybrid I bought to start riding again to my Dad. He was recovering from hip replacement, and I wanted something nicer.
In 2013, I gave a bike to my older brother. I don't want to talk about that one.
