Some pictures from the 2015 Tour de Bronx
We had a great time at the annual Tour and once again the crowd was huge. This is an enjoyable day to tour and see the various parts of the Bronx but it is not a racing event. There are just too many riders of all different skill levels. It was raining lightly as we rode down to the starting point by Yankee Stadium but by the time the ride started at 1030 the weather was great and just kept getting better as the day went on. It was good to see @noglider at the beginning too. If anyone attended and has photos to post feel free. I rode my newly completed '89 Fuji Ace retro roadie build (my first).

My pictures are here. The cute woman on the yellow bicycle is my lovely wife.
We had a grand old time. The route was brilliant. The Bronx is full of surprises. We think of it as having a brutally urban landscape, and that's because it's what you see on most routes. But there are big areas with all kinds of scenery. I took several pictures of the Long Island Sound.
Borough President Ruben Diaz made a speech before we headed out. And he joined us on the ride! I love his energy and his accent. What a guy.
The weather seemed foreboding in the morning, but as Greg said, it turned out to be glorious. The people on the ride were the best feature. Everyone had such a nice time. There were thousands of us! This is the largest free organized bike ride in New York State.
There were plenty of marshals in orange shirts helping everyone along. I had to help one of them. He fell, and he confessed it was because he had been looking at his phone instead of the road. His bike was out of alignment, so we straightened it out, and I didn't let him leave until his daze from the shock passed.
I helped a couple of others. One woman wasn't used to riding, and her legs hurt. Her seat was two inches too low. I raised it only one inch because the proper height would have been too hard to get used to. Then someone else noticed her front tire was much too soft. Another woman's saddle was pointing out to the side. She let me fix it and confessed she hadn't noticed the problem, but she also said my correction was an improvement.
I saw four people wearing their helmets backwards.

@Jarrettsin He seems like a really genuine guy by all accounts and on top of that Mark Messier was with him also! I enjoy his kick-off speech every year and he always shows so much enthusiasm for our borough.

I fell in love with Ruben Diaz yesterday.
I now work in the Bronx, so I'm getting to know and love the borough.
