best route between Annapolis and Washington, DC?

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best route between Annapolis and Washington, DC?

I'll take zig-zagging through suburbia over dodging high speed traffic.

Thanks,
Bill

Check out www.bikewashington.org ... there you will find a DC--Baltimore--Annapolis route. Should be helpful.

From BikeWashington, you can also find the local commuter/advocacy forum. You can usually get specific responses there too regarding best routes.

Check out the lower section of a century I did earlier this year. I was riding fr. DC to Annapolis, so you'll have to reverse.
PM me if you've got specific questions about the route.
Best.

I found the answer. At the Maryland Department of Transportation website one can easily order a free bicycling map. Also at the Virginia Department of Transportation website one can easily order a free bicycling map.

Looks like highway 450 (Annapolis Road!) is designated a bicyclable route. There's also various bits of trails and roads with bike paths marked on the map, so I'll wait for the map.

Thanks for your input.
