Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speedplay cleats on Sidi Genius 5 shoes

Are there any tricks or tips for mounting Speedplay cleats on Sidi Genius 5 shoes?

I have Speedplays, and I'm about to buy Sidi Genius 5 shoes, and I want to know if this combination will be reasonably easy to assemble, or if I should look for other shoes.

Thanks,
Bill

It's not hard at all. The speedplay cleats come with a mounting pad for the 3-hole shoes. Nothing to worry about.

just make sure you read the manual and use the right shims.
as far as I know, the cleats already come pre equipped with the correct shims for sidi shoes.

oh, right, tighten the platform so that it won't slip, but when you tighten the cleat, use only two fingers to attain the 'tightening like a 12yr old girl with carpel tunnel and arthritis' torque values.

IMO two fingers = thumb and pinky or index and ring
