Tacx T4000 10-tooth pulley set for my Ironman's Suntour GPX rear derailleur. I'd been fussing for months over drivetrain drag. Felt like a brake pad was dragging the rim. Tried everything else, including overhauling the bottom bracket, but nothing solved the problem. But the new sealed bearing pulley set did the trick. Not bad for $10 or so.

Some sizes are listed out of stock, but if you wait a week they're usually back is stock. Most of the components are OEM and come in a cardboard box sealed by Shimano with no installation instructions.. Only a few come in the blue retail box.
The front dérailleur is very different from anything I've ever set up before. I couldn't have set it up without this utube video. There is a section around 8:30 that shows how to line up two white lines I would have never seen. The routing if the cable is very different too, he covers that very well. The bottom bracket (English) takes a 41mm socket, There are so many different bottom brackets out there now, it's ridiculous. You'll need the SHIMANO Hollowtech-II Crank-arm/Cap Tool, TL-FC16 to tighten the crank arm, don't over tighten it.

His other videos are very helpful too.

Mrs. Claus was generous this year, so I must have been a good boy. Full Sora R3000 flatbar group to upgrade the Hybrid. TRP 8.4 V’s. Sent a set of Deore XT hub to Universal for a build around Mavic A719 battle tanks that get here tomorrow. More than enough for any rider but weight weenies or mine is bigger weekend rider types. This new Sora stuff is nice.

I just received my Varia RTL510 radar device.
Together with the Cycliq Fly6 camera I feel a little bit safer out on the road.

NOS 2010 Kestrel Talon with SRAM Force 10-speed
I found a new old stock Kestrel Talon--a 2010 model with SRAM Force. It was from an online seller who sells blemished bikes (returns). It was missing some cables and a right shifter. I purchased a replacement shifter on Ebay for $75 and installed some light wheels I already owned. Upon inspection I noticed a crack in the proprietary carbon seat post with shreds of carbon fiber (likely from a previous purchaser over-tightening). I photographed damaged seat post and the seller immediately shipped a replacement seat post priority mail (a newer lighter version of the original to my surprise). The picture (below) has the old seat post. With my new wheels it weighs in at 16lbs 11oz. I have never owned a Kestrel Talon, but have seen them advertised. It seems to be a very well-engineered road bike. I saw an old article from Tour Magazine from around 2010 or 2011 that the Kestrel tested very well in their wind-tunnel testing. Shifting with SRAM is very intuitive and I like the change from Shimano shifting. The ride and power transfer are great. Also, it came with an 11-25 cassette (paired to a 53/39 crankset). I had a 10 speed Ultegra 11/28 cassette already so I put that on (which necessitated a longer chain). I have some steep hills and will see how it goes, if it gets tough I hopefully get the crankset down to a 52/36 or something. I hope Kestrel continues making these bikes as their parent company is going through a bankruptcy. Maybe I should buy a spare seat post before the supplies dry up

If you wait for a sale, I like the compression tops from Under Armor. On sale you might be looking at $20 a top.
