New addition to the fleet. Specialized Chisel Comp X1. My first foray into the world of 29'ers, single chainrings, tubeless tires. It's been 15 years since I ordered a mt. bike and having ridden a LOT this winter, felt the urge. I didn't need another full suspension, have a Stumpjumper 26" wheeled bike for that. I picked this up last Wednesday. It then snowed Thurs AM, Friday AM and Sat. AM. I attempted a ride on Sunday and encountered slush and muck. I take it off the rack in my basement and sit on it.

At only 67 I don’t necessarily consider myself “old,” but here’s my road bike. My Roubaix is shear joy to ride.

This has been my regular go-to bike since I built it in 2001.
And this is my sunny day bike - if we ever have one again.

Currently have a 2013 Stache 7 posted for sale locally, I just seem to not ride it.
I’ll probably regret selling it if it sells but the money will go towards a gravel or bike packing bike.
Then last summer I picked up a used Novara Randonee which might work out as a gravel bike or I’ll set it up as a rando bike. I totally dislike the current stem on it.

Not particularly light - my frame in x-large came in around 1850 grams or so. I weigh around 220lb and was looking more for the feeling of steel rather than light weight. Surprisingly the paint is top notch and pretty thick. Had to file some off the rear drops to get my new wheels to seat properly. Head tube and bottom bracket were very clean so I didn't need to chase/face anything.
Nice long top tube in my size. I have a long torso and short thighs which usually keep me from buying off the rack. I believe the tapered fork is a Selcof Delta SL. The only con so far is that the fork is relatively narrow. I don't think I could use 25mm tires on the wide Boyd rims. I'm using 23s now that measure 25 installed. All in all I'm really happy. Even with the recent price increase it's a steal for Columbus Spirit tubing.

Latest project - 1982-ish rare Nishiki Maxima. These were Italian built frames for Nishiki (reportedly designed and spec'd by Colnago).

I gave her a 62 mile 62nd birthday ride, today. She behaved well with 14.7 mph average speed, but I, at 78, was flagging a bit towards the end.

Loving my new ride. I've learned that sometimes new things are better than old...... the Future Shock on the stem, and the modified seatpost are amazing at smooting out the rough spring roads in my area. The ability to run up to 32mm tires and even to go tubeless if I choose are sweet. And for the disk brakes... I will have to say, they don't feel like a great step forward on my normal ride, but when it rains, I'm looking forward to no panic situations with trying to get my brakes to grab. I purposely sprayed them with water and tried them and they stopped just the same, wet or dry.
So to go from my Miyata 914 to this, is definitely a step into the future for me.
