More bikes out
I've read about fewer bikes to purchase in shops. This can see seen on the roads in my town as there has been a marked increase in bike use. I hope this change will stick beyond the pandemic.

I hope so too. I can vouch for the lack of bikes. My Domane should be in this week. I jumped on it quick. Coming in from California. However, don’t be surprised if more used bikes are up for sale in a few months. Kind of like that New Years resolution.

I'm all for change. Hopefully it'll change very soon & people go back to doing whatever they did before deciding to use bicycles.

I kind of wonder if more so by region. Always found strange out here on the road with my job seems more bike paths in northern states where less of a riding season and less paths in southern states. But had a nice ride in Paducah Kentucky yesterday without one horn blowing, yelled at or no rolling coal.

I concur. More bikes are out, even whole families. Mom, Dad, kids, bikes all over the trail. Me swerving to avoid little ones on training wheels.
Not a bad thing.

The hobbies I enjoy most are seeing a surge in participation. Bike shops, kayak shops and gun shops are all running low on inventory.

I too hope to see the current bike craze remain even after we get back to "normal". I believe there will be a glut of bikes available down the road but not in the next few months. Some people will stop using the bikes that they bought during the pandemic but will probably hold on to them for a time. They get pushed into the back corner of the shed for a few years first waiting to be used again, and then eventually put up for sale. Takes a few years I think for those to realize they will not use the bikes anymore.

I have at the same time seen more bikes pop up on the facebook bike markets, due to the shortage at the bike shops.

I'd like to see more people on bikes too. But, if this pandemic ends, I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of great deals on lightly used bikes.
