Had a wee bit of rain on Wednesday in the Pine Barrens. Fortunately, this was not my campsite.

poor sods
going from the amount of stuff just left about, they probably just threw up their arms and got in the car to head to town for the day.

aka Learn the lesson of eyeballing a tent site for drainage or lack thereof....

All that rain must have been a good test for your new tent.

It was. It started raining just as I got to my site. I took shelter under the overhang of a closed restroom until the rain stopped. Lightning was crackling close. The photo was taken during the second cell while I was charging my phone in the laundry room. Moderate to very heavy rain for about an hour.

Is that hail or just fat raindrops? It looks like some pretty tough conditions. We've had our QD in rain, but nothing like you experienced. How did your tent do ?

Rain bouncing off the blacktop. The close lightning was scary. Tent did great.

Doug, first all all--- very nice pan shot
secondly, when my wife and i were being tourists on foot in Nantes, numerous times food restaurant delivery bike dudes like this would go hammering in and out of pedestrian foot traffic in people only areas. The French can be rather outspoken about complaining, so I was rather surprised folks didn't yell at them to slow the hell down abd be careful.

your shot brought this all back to me

It's food delivery, the French would probably not tolerate it from other deliveries.

Netherlands-- Guess who got a flat tire about a half hour after this picture was taken. This was the crappiest part of the tour

Relevant to nothing. 😁 Hey, where’s the tab for attachments? Hard to add a pic, without that. 🤔
Nevermind, I just confused myself again. 🙄😉

If you are going to have a flat tire, have it in front of a French bakery.

We had a great trip — 160 miles, proud of my 15 and 13 year olds!

Netherlands-- The riders try to skewer a 2" ring hanging from a rope.

She got a keeper-- the ring is visible at the handle end of the white shaft.
