Miyata 615 Before & After
Ready for the open road. Neat little 46cm Terry style Moyata 615 I've spent the past few evenings putting back together.

Hey, your handlebars are upside-down!!! I always wanted to yell that at someone riding with their bars like that, from a car. 😁😉
I’m liking your bike, but have a LOT to learn about Miyatas yet. I just grabbed an ‘85 six ten recently myself, but don’t know enough to guess what year yours is. 🤔

Since the wheels fit with the canti brakes, those are obviously the correct wheels for that frame. But it sure looks odd with different size wheels. If you wanted to install fenders, you would probably have to buy two pairs. Looks very nice.
Are those indexed downtube shifters?

Indexed 3x6 shimano light action downtube shifters. The '85 has mid- fork mounts and 27" wheels, friction shifting. The 1988 went to 700c and indexed shifting but no fork mounts.

Yes those are the correct wheels. This is the 1988 Terry style where an otherwise extra small frame can be built with proper geometry by using a smaller front wheel.

Ha, I think these shifters were as close to being indexed as you could get, without actually being indexed. They’re definitely not indexed, but they are ratchety, like Suntour’s Power shifters. I need to find the right screwdriver, to remove that shifter clamp, then I can mount my XT 7-speed thumbies. 🙂

Well done !
I purchased a bike during that short era which came with those Bio-pace chain rings, elliptical not round. It was the only bike that I ever developed knee pain with and so ended up changing out the chain rings to the traditional round. Hopefully you won't have those problems.

I just hope that you find someone who not only appreciates Vintage Steel, but also the work you put into this restoration of an unorthodox XS frame!
