Is this tire bad????.....
Already rode once. Brand new. Rear is fine. rotated tube and rechecked. R & R’d and rechecked. Definitely tire anomaly. 🤷♂️

Oops! That one slipped through the QC dept! Warranty time!

What kind of tires are those? I hope that you already have a refund and/or replacement on the way.

Ha ha.....blue indeed! I have juuust a sliver of blue on the bike on the "evo" decals. (whew!)
They've been on clearance for a few weeks now at the LBS (I think they must've had lots of them.) They're a SERFAS SECA RS tire. Not that SERFAS is necessarily in the tire business but still not great.
And I'd think that regardless of being on closeout they should want to make it right but I won't be surprised if the give me the...."Welllll....it was a clearance tire."

Get a replacement for that
you can’t risk going downhill at 50mph with this tire doing a blowout on the front wheel.
if they don’t take this one back, use it on a trainer or on the rear wheel of your commuter bike if you ride flat cycle paths under 15mph. If it blow out this way it’s less lethal!

Thanks guys! Ya wish I’d seen even before I went out on one ride. 😬
Will definitely give it a go for replacement. (I usually go 2 for 1 on rear vs front wear so
may even grab another so I show some good faith. Ain’t big bucks so not worth worrying about just kinda sad for Serfas branded.
I wonder who actually makes these for them. Hmmmm

Did you hit something on that one ride = something like a crack in the road?
I did and the inside of my tire looked like this:
Check the inside of your tire for similar breaks. Don't ride it even on the rear wheel.
Cheers

The tire itself appears straight, its just that darn blue portion that makes it look cattywompass to me. But truly that should have never escaped the manufacturer’s QC person!

I would replace it with something nicer. Never been a fan of Serfas products. The only reason for them is for cheap tires in an emergency. Not a reliable long lasting tire and QC isn't that excellent. I have seen it before and many other problems with Serfas. Granted they generally did replace their broken or problem stuff but we had to replace stuff often.
