Teach me: Schwinn Paramount PDG OS 26
Teach me on value of a Paramount Schwinn on 650x23 wheels/tires
White paint (has multiple scratches, scuffs etc - this is the one to ride, not hang on display)
Shimano 600 Tricolor hubs/Mavic wheels
Shimano 600 indexed downtube shifters
Shimano 600 Tricolor front (2x)
Shimano 105 rear
Shimano 600 rim brakes
Toptube internal cable routing
Campagnolo headset
2x8 set up
Missing: tires and tubes, brake levers, saddle.

Top tube is 22 inches center to center. Could not locate the serial number. The license number on the seat tube sticker says T 002381. Its a 2x8 speed. I removed some of the parts to clean up.

try to slip a set of 700c wheels on there --- there is an odd amount of clearance at the bottom bracket and fork on that one
There were plenty of full size bikes made with 650c wheels but they were generally marketed towards the tri crowd

You might want to contact Rechard Schwinn at Waterford. There dont seem to be any tiged OS Paramounts in the catalouges. I wonder if ita a Paramount or sompthing else

The 1992 catalog references a Series 7 model with 26" (571) wheels, 28-hole front, and a 56-tooth large chainring.

Hmm....So. at the same time Panasonic was making a set of lugged steel frames for Schwinn to validate they could make something worthy of the Paramount name there were also a set of white tig'ed ones done.
I just don't remember all the details or if this is one of those.
It is Tange so it wouldn't surprise me if it was.

Oh, and another note from Scooper. Waterford didn't do unicrown forks on the PDG bikes they made, Panasonic did.

One of these passed through The Lab about ten years ago. If I recall correctly, this was not made by Panasonic, but was an earlier PDG frame experiment manufactured in Taiwan or China. No lugs.
Note that the top tube says 'Series' but there is no series number, unlike the later lugged PDG frames. The fork had a Tange label on it but don't remember if the frame tubing was identified.
This particular bike came to me with Shimano 1055 7 speed components with upgraded Dura Ace hubs and an absurdly small 8 speed cassette. The 7 speed DT shifters worked across the 8 speed cassette pretty well, with the lower limit screw acting as the backstop for the final shift to the largest cog.
Pretty sure I sold this to a woman in DC; even though it was a 57cm frame, the 650 wheels brought the height down enough that it fit her.

Notice like the one you have there is no PDG Series number. All the normal production ones has a number associated with them. Somewhere I've posted Richard Schwinn's comments on these pre-production models but I can't find it right now.

Takeshi , looks like your small-wheel series should indeed get a 56-tooth chainring, which makes sense wrt. gearing and wheel diameter.
