Yeah, that slingshot stem & chrome riser bar (got that off an early Giant, back in Kingman, AZ), are what lets me ride such a small frame. I can ride with the stock LaPrade seatpost, but another 3 or 4 inches would be best. 🙂
I just have the thumbies mounted on the handlebars, to carry them, they’re not hooked up yet. Plus I need a clamp-on cable-stop, for the downtube, there aren’t any braze-ons other than the clamp-stopper-from-sliding one. The Shimano downtube shifters need some adjustment, they’re barely functional now.

I walked all over downtown Sacramento today, and finally scored some 27” x 1 1/4” Armadilloes, new tubes, more marijuana, and some carne asada fries. 😍😁
The tires were overpriced I felt, but I also realized fully, that it was lucky to find them, at any price, with this lockdown picking up momentum again. 🙄 At least I can hit the road again now, or at least after installing the tires. 😎

I haven’t tried the glue75 yet, the girl gave me a free pre-roll of GS cookies, for being a first-time customer there. I hadn’t tried GS cookies before, but it’s pretty potent. 😁😎😁

Well, I turned up missing in action, shortly after procuring, but I’ve been riding and bonding, and slowly getting things done. I took this pic yesterday, showing the Suntour XC derailleurs, and the funky weird Shimano downtube shifters.
Just today, I scored a Suntour cable-stop band clamp thingy, so I can use thumbies, and an old REG Italian bottle cage, that clamps onto the frame. I didn’t realize how much I “need” that second bottle cage, until I got this Miyata, that shorted me one. 🤔😁😉

I just got some more herbs last night, that are quite a bit stronger yet. Dog’s Breath is 31% THC, which is crazy strong. 😁
Progress report on the bike coming soonish. 🤔😉

Well, stardognine,
I picked up the same year, same color 610 back in January of this year in a 23"
I changed out quite a bit on mine including now running 700c wheels.
Its mostly all XT parts on it now.
It's a very nice riding machine.
Mine was also low mileage and great paint.
I've managed to add a scrape to that nice paint somehow through using it but it's not too bad.
To accommodate the old back
I'm also using a tall stem and upright type Sunlite North Road bars on it with XT thumb shifters.
Believe it or not it's sporting 700x42 true to size tires.
The rear barely clears but with a very true wheel it's working fine for me and providing an extra 'cush' factor for the old bones.

Regarding a 2nd bottle cage, I added this to mine and I am pleased with it.
It comes in 5 colors, I went with the grey.
Here's a pic that shows bottle cage adapter.
I also switched to an XT crankset.
I also bought some brown housing I was thinking of using in place of black.
I'll check back to see how your gold housing looks.
The original Miyata tires from mine are in pretty good shape as well.
They're laying around here somewhere.
I also have a original as it came to me pic somewhere.

I’m losing more and more of the stenciling, but I still like my first gen Suntour XC derailley-ators. 😎
EDIT: Meant to say, this color is actually called Burnt Sienna in the catalog. Before I saw that online, I was calling it Root Beer, lol. 🙄😉

I'm running H + Son TB14 Rims with 105 hubs currently on it although I also have a Dyad/Deore Wheelset I could also use if I actually got it together to do a tour.
