Went to the bank, yesterday, to withdraw 27,000 pesos to pay the health insurance bill. Couldn't do it without my passport. This morning I returned with passport. Couldn't do it without a copy, and he knew full well no copy places open today. Whew! That was close. But he didn't know I had a copy at home. Return with copy, and spend the next hour and a half trying to devise an excuse as to why it can't be done. The ultimate answer? A digital copy is not acceptable. And on top of that, the passport itself is not acceptable.
At thispoint I ask if there is a limit above which it becomes more difficult to do, because all their literature says unlimited withdrawals. Yes 5000.is the ultimate limit. But we're not going to tell you that. We're gonna dance around it, sweating bullets for an hour an a half, implicating workmates, with their fingerprints, so that I can't be held accountable by myself, in case I can't worm out.
After it's all said and done, I figured out it's likely the fact that I'm a foreigner in a tiny town. A town where they never see US passports. I remember back a couple years when I opened the account, it took the entire day, because the home office just didn't want to do it. But wouldn't come out and say it. The guy I'd been working with all day finally shamed them into doing it. That should have been a tip off.

I won't say how far I went, because by comparison with some of y'all, it wasn't far at all. But it was good. At 100 kg, I don't generally expect to pass anyone skinny on uphills, so I'll tend to hang back behind them, expecting that they'll leave me behind. That' mostly what happens, but I've noticed recently I'm passing more skinny people on climbs. So that makes me feel good!
Then somebody passes me. In the big ring.
Mind you, I've had a number of people pass me early on hills, sometimes going pretty fast, and then just a little later I pass them. That feels good. But then there are the ones who just pass you and disappear in the distance.
I was telling my wife that the great thing about riding in the Bay Area is there's always somebody younger, or older; skinnier or fatter; faster or slower. Mostly, I'm other people's "Older, Fatter Slower", but then sometimes I'm sombody's "Older, Fatter, Faster", and I like that.
Then somebody passes me. In the big ring.

I have not visited there for about 6 years but hope to go again sometime. I recall the cycling was good. As were the food options.

I'm on the DL today after a mishap right before dinner last night. I was crouching for a couple of minutes tending to a messy floor by the dog's dish and got up too fast. Big mistake, I fainted and whacked my head on the woodwork of the entrance to the livingroom. Had a big, egg sized bump that I iced down and the worst is my neck, which is already, FUBAR suffered trauma.
Felt better than expected today and am hoping no Major neck issues to result. It is stiff and barking at me but I will wait before I see the Chiropractor.
I HTFU and cut one of the lawns and mulched the final 2/3 of the flower beds anyway.
