Aeroad Headset Gap

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Aeroad Headset Gap

I recently acquired a used CF SLX and I'm wondering if the plastic piece below the spacer is the wrong size. Seems like it should come down further.. I can see the upper headset bearing.. I've reassembled it twice and have also reached out to Canyon's tech support but am waiting on a response. Any suggestions?

Another concerning thing I came across while taking the stem off the steer tube is the steer tube is 1.125" OD and has been shimmed to fit the 1.25" spacers and integrated cockpit..

If the stem has a shim, it's not oem, that's Alibaba or something on there
Recommend installing all Canyon parts on that Aeroad of yours

The wheels are probably fakes too.

Did you call Canyon customer support to verify with the serial number?
