Fleece seat covers

Anybody here tried these? I'm still trying to tame my Brooks B-67, but I don't want to add much thickness.

Feel free to suggest alternatives. The B-67 measures 10" long by 8" wide.

Do you wear padded bike shorts?

Nah, skip fleece. Get the wood beaded seat covers like taxi driver use!

Why are your comments always useless? You are not funny and don't and anything to the conversation. Thank goodness BF has an ignore function.

To the OP, I didn't even know they made this so I looked them up. I am sure they will work just fine though trying to tame a B67 seems like overkill. Isn't the B67 the be all, end all of upright saddles? I own this one and couldn't imagine why it would need to be tamed but to each their own. Good luck.

Have to agree with the padded shorts but mainly because a cover sliding around on the saddle more of a aggravation than being controlled stitched in cycling shorts.

Use padded shorts, if you are not already. A fleece seat cover might feel good if your rides are no longer than a few miles...But for longer distances, that sounds like a recipe for saddle sores.

take off the B67 and put on a pillow like soft gel padded saddle on instead ,,

A Brooks looks good but not what the tender tukkus can, apparently tolerate..

I may have to. I bought the Brooks because SO many people raved about how great they are--AFTER being broken in. This one may break me first, though. I've heard some suggestions to soak the thing and ride it for a few miles, and I know that would reshape it, but I'm not quite ready to try that yet.

Just by the way, it's on a Day 6, which is as upright as it gets. And I still haven't given it a decent test ride.

Gel is what I was thinking, maybe an accessory pad that goes on over an existing seat, but they're all quite thick and I don't want to lose the nice low position it allows; I can now flatfoot the bike, whereas with the stock seat I had to scoot on and off it at stops. And the seatpost is bottomed out in both cases.

No, and I don't feel like starting.

Back to gel, if I were still working in the wheelchair shop, I'd have precisely what I needed for foam, and I could sew my own cover.
