"In Rod We Trust" (MTB Fork)
This project started life as an old Marzocchi Super T fork with 30mm stanchions and a 20mm thru axle. I ordered a 6ft roll-wrapped CF tube from Dragonplate (1" ID, 3/32" thick) with an OD that is close enough to 30mm. It was not cheap so I'm glad this worked!
This was fun^
It weighs 20 grams more than the cheap steel fork it replaces, but still not too bad.
I used an M7 screw to pin the dropout because I've never worked with CF before so I don't entirely trust the epoxy.
..and proof I survived the first ride.
Now that I know it works, I'll lace that 20mm hub to my 29" rim. I forgot how awful it was to ride a rigid fork with a 26" wheel...

Both wheels are now the same size now....looks and rides much better. I laced the front wheel half-radial just for the heck of it. I prefer the look of radial wheels, but I don't get much chance to make them.
