Did my first 100+ mile ride of the year, 110 miles in Fauqier and Loudon counties in VA. 6500 feet of non-stop relentless rollers.

Why did I start/stop the ride at the top of the hill in downtown Warrenton**********??

You did 52 miles looking around for garage sales? Now that is some fierce shopping.

How do you lug the stuff back, especially furniture?

I took my daughter's gymnastics coach on a short 8 mile ride on the BRP this morning. It was her first road ride. She managed the clipless pedals well. There's nothing like starting on a 3 mile hill to help one decide whether cycling is for you.

I took a solo 35 mile ride to a favorite break spot -- "Trailhead Coffee and Cycling Lounge" -- run by a couple of real cyclists. There must have been 10-12 riders there. VERY windy, which made for some good some bad riding. One of the most annoying things about wind is the noise level.

This morning's weather radar and the Accu Weather report indicated thunderstorms all morning. I bagged a race and went to church with my wife (I did score some good boy points). The rains stopped South of us, and the race went on as scheduled. When I decided to get my 1.5 hour Z3 ride in the radar showed rain coming again. I rode anyway, in windy/rainy conditions over rolling terrain and averaged 20.5 mph for 31 miles door-to-door. Finishing the rectangle with the South wind at my back was the ticket!, not so much heading that direction at the beginning.

Went out with no plan and ended up doing 33 miles. My rear D was acting weird as of late so on way home I stopped at LBS and they adjusted it while I waited about 10 minutes.

I did a few roads I never have been on and some I have gone the opposite way so it was cool doing different stuff.

I go back with the truck and pick it up. I've been doing this for years, it's actually easier than using a car to visit the sales. Bikes are so much more manuverable, easy to park, easy to turn around.....you know what I mean.

Despite the fact that the weather dude had been calling for an all day Sunday rain for the past week I managed to get in two rides today.

I greeted a sunny dawn with a group breakfast ride from Brighton NY to Fairport NY. It's an out & back along the canal with a round trip total of twenty miles.

After lunch I rode down to the beach to watch the annual "Kite Flight" festival. Adding a nice tour of the town of Greece on the way home and I logged another thirty miles.

Oh yeh, it still hasn't rained as of 09:00 p.m.!

I was a biat worried about today's 56 mile ride because of the climbing involved -- my legs have been dead lately. But we started out at a relaxed pace and I did OK. Just before our lunch stop, we ran into another group from out club. We had lunch at the market in Meadow Vista CA, the both groups rode home together. Most of the return trip is downhill, so I was able to keep up pretty well, even with the hotshots. Here we are coming up a little hill outside Auburn CA.

30 miles after work. Humid and windy,15 mph with 25mph gusts.
I really didn't want to ride 30 but kept making the turns that lead me there.. I feel tired lately and not sure why.

Wildlife count ..3 deer 1 snake and several squirrels.

I did 26 miles on the Tues. night ride from the LBS. It's basically a race to the top of the climb the a fast descent to the sprint near the finish. Or so I'm told. lol, I'm off the back long before much happens.

I was whooped this morning and drove to work.

I made up for it this evening with a quick 26 mile round trip dash for ice cream, and it felt great.

61 miles with members of two bike clubs. Wind was a factor, both good and bad.

Should have posted this Sat. did my pre-century 88 mile solo ride to see if I am ready for a full century. Did ok with only some cramping at 66 miles. 7750 feet of climbing and had to out sprint at least 6 dogs.

On Tuesday went out for a short spin trying to resolve(find) a clicking noise near the bottom bracket. Looked down half way through the ride and my bar end mirror was MIA. Backtracked and there it was on the road. Looked as if only a half a dozen cars ran it over and the mirror part was not broken, but the body was DOA.

Major MUP-age, last night. 38 miles on the W&OD, Capital Crescent, Mt. Vernon, and 4-mile run trails. It was like an obstacle course, but the weather was great. Glad I went.

Thanks MoJo.

I got back out today although I was on the tired side today. I managed 7.017 miles in 00:46:49. I came off with an average speed of 9.0 and a 53 VO2 Max. Much lower heart rate readings today, average was 103 compared to yesterdays 115 bpm. Temp was in the low 80's with a wind of 5 mph and then picked up to 6 mph. I had a lot of heavy semi traffic, and flat beds with wide loads that distracted me a bit in the industrail park. I am still tired from Mon when I was lifting weights and my muscles were still a little sore. Tomorrow rest.

I took my daughter's gymnastics coach out on a short 10 mile ride up on the BRP on her new (to her) bike. It was a perfect day for a ride! I'll get in a proper ride for myself tomorrow.

She's super flexible and made to ride a bike.

The serviceberry trees are all in bloom on the mountainsides.

Looking down at a switchback on the parkway.
