mrz80, nice pics! I need to figure out how to take pics while riding right after I master drinking water while riding.

Didn't ride today, but I did ride to work yesterday. Life and weather keep getting in the way. I wanted to ride today too but yesterday I was coughing a lot, my throat was a bit sore and I occasionally had trouble catching my breath. Grabbed a few pics on the way home yesterday...

Gingko tree

Another shot of the Gingko tree. I want to put one in my yard.

Finally, some movie junk to show you. This is for an ABC Family movie called Always and Forever set up in Inman Park.

And finally, hauling home my free Tofurky feast. I should've bungied it down. One of the bumps on my way home caused the box to bust open. I almost lost the fake wishbone! :-)

"New" bike's maiden rail trail voyage on a lovely autumn day.

Some interesting rock and root formations & a natural spring to top it all off

Beautiful tunnel; ugly picture

O'er the bridge

Helloooo down there

Horse & jockey sculptures. If you look closely, you can see the horse as apparently eaten several small tricycles.

Wow, nice stuff. Things here in FL aren't so interesting. Your Soma is nice and your surroundings, just as nice.

zzOtherlandzz, back problems suck. :-( I have a herniated disc that makes me hobble around like an old woman when I get out of bed. At least it doesn't seem to interfere with bike riding. Heal quickly!

agobel, I second droobieinop's question, where is that? It looks awesome.

slow spoke, your spokes are out of control!

Well I did manage a short ride today. My mom was using my van & my truck was full of the lumber that we tore of the porch before we rebuilt it. I needed to go to the post office so decided to try a ride. Back hurt a lil bit while riding (but it hurts while doing anything right now). But when I was done and got off the bike and stretched a bit it actually felt pretty good. Only rode 6 miles... but like I used to say "A short ride is better than no ride"...

abracapocus - 's not too difficult. It does require a fairly small camera, hence my borrowing of the wife's Sony W100. I doubt I could've managed the SLR without killing myself .

agobel - definitely, where's the tunnel? Did the RR in question recently single-track what was originally a double-track line?

No more spoke problems, I have now replaced both wheels with Mavic Open Pro wheels with DT spokes, 36 in the back and 32 in the front with Shimano Ultegra Hubs. These wheels should last me a life time. I'm 70 yrs old so that might not be as long as I think.

Thanks for the bike like, droopie. I live in York, Pennsylvania, just north of MD line; pretty much straight up from Baltimore. Here is some information on the York County Heritage Rail Trail. It is indeed a lovely ride, intermittent woods and farmland. https://www.yorkcountyparks.org/parkp...il%20Trail.pdf
I aspire to ride to it, then on it, but I just drive there for now, then begin my ride. It's a short drive, but across some hilly, bike-unfriendly streets, so I'm not up to it quite yet. Happy trails!

York County Heritage Rail Trail. Adored by the elderly as a walking trail, and by casual and avid cyclists alike. It's flat, safe, and scenic. About 7 miles from my usual starting point is a sweet little cafe called "Serenity Station" where I like to stop for a pick-me-up. Next time I go, I'm definitely taking my DSLR for some higher quality photos. I wonder what the weather will look like tomorrow...

See the above link for a brochure. In answer to your question, I don't believe so?

Here are some more pictures I snapped of the tunnel, since it seemed to interest you.

Mouth

1866

It was dark inside, and a faint a dripping could be heard. Very eerie/cool.

This year's Horrible Hundred in Clermont, Fl.
The hilliest ride in Fl, as far as I know.
The winds were supposed to start at 5 mph but, seemed like most of the day was spent fighting a 10-15 mph head and cross wind.

Yesterday I rode in to work. Everyone seems to have checked out early; it was a pleasant ride in even though I got rained on lightly. Just as I was getting ready to leave work the sky turned black and it started raining. Yay? And it rained hard on me the whole way home. At least it was 70 F. I know what I'm spending my next REI dividend on: rain pants, a hat cover and shoe covers. Actually, I bet one of those cheap plastic shower caps will work over the hat. My stuff stayed surprisingly dry in my Basil panniers. I did stick my iPad in a plastic bag for added security though. Drivers were actually trying to avoid splashing me with puddles which was nice but didn't really make any difference. My jeans were soaked when I got home. And I'm still fighting something that's restricting my airways some. Nothing a week of vacation in a warm place won't fix. So I'ma do that! You all have a wonderful holiday and I'll see you back here in a week or so.

Yes, finally! Have been riding the spinner at the gym since hubby's shoulder surgery but not out on the bike until today. We decided to go down to Inverness
and rent a Trike. It worked out really good. We rode a little over 10 miles south and then back. Sure felt good to be back outside on the bike. Weather was
beautiful. Here's hubby on the Trike. He says he could really get used to it. I know he was really happy just to be back riding.

Perfect day to ride. Alot of people out today. I might have to adjust my goal as it looks more and more like I am not going to hit my mark of 7500 miles. I will have to do 600 + miles in December to hit last years total. This will be a bit of a disapointment but looking at the year and the issues that I have had 6800 miles might not be to bad. We will see...
