This moving thing and weather is killing my saddle time.
Relatively short and cold ride yesterday. Bailed on morning shop ride today but, tried to save face by riding to work.

Pushing harder for this year. The goal is to triple the mileage from last years total of 1700 to 5200. (100 miles per week for the year).
Got 36 miles in today. Got caught in a storm that was forecast for later in the afternoon. I got really wet. Still working out the foul weather gear...
521 miles / 6 weeks.

Yes I rode today. Lovely weather. I did 31 miles but it could have ended after about 9-10 miles.

yes, 16 miles on the Gainesville/Hawthorne trail. The hills at the Gainesville end kicked my butt. Haven't ridden this one since my knee surgery. Need to work my way back to my pre-surgery 25-30 mile rides.

I haven't ridden weekend rides much, I've just concentrated on commuting. The last few group rides I've been on had more than 15 people each time, so I'm very encouraged! Looking forward to even more people and rides.

I need to get back out to the Gainesville trail, I haven't been out there in quite awhile. I have been riding (when I do ride) the Palatka Lake Butler trail. Here Is one of my favorite pictures of one of the hills on the G.ville trail. Could not find my full res pic though...

Did you guys start in G.ville and ride out and back and hit the hills 2 times? Not much of a warm-up before the hills when you start on the g.ville end.. kind of down hill for a 1/3rd of a mile then...... right into the hills ...

Feeling back to normal after my go around with food poisoning.... Gonna try for a ride tomorrow...

Met and old friend for lunch, dropped be the Dr. office to get a prescription refilled then went by the health food store for some liquid Vitamin B 12, then home. Tomorrow looks like another good day. If things go as planned this is going to be a great month.

yep, we started on the Gainesville side and you are right....not much warm up before hitting those hills. Sounds like a good excuse to me...yep...;-) I did notice that on the way back they were much easier.
We rode out a little over 6 miles and then rode the mb trails (I think it was called Prairie Creek) out a couple of miles. (luckily we both were riding our mbs) Was a good time to ride that trail as it wasn't real wet or sandy. I don't think I'd want to ride them in the wet summer months though.

Sorry to hear about the food poisoning. Hubby had that a few weeks ago and we still haven't figured out where he got it.

ps...yep, I recognize that hill. One of these days I will get up it without huffing and puffing.

Did my usual 31 miles today.
For some reason it has been windy or very windy on every ride I've done since last fall. I hate the wind. Makes me tired before I'm ready to head home.

Yep,,,,, Got out for a ride today... FINALLY... One friend went with me. I noticed the other day that they had cut the grass along the fence on part of the rice creek trail. A couple of weeks ago when I tried to ride it the grass was head high while on the bike so I gave up and rode someplace else. Got the Tassajara out for friend to ride put air in the tires loaded em up on the van and we took off to the trail head. Went to take the bike off and the front tire was totally flat. So had to fix a flat before we got started... DOH! We ended up riding about 7 miles on the trail and another 4.5 miles on the road back to the trail head. My friend says he is gonna get some bike shorts... hahah. Great ride.. Not too sandy on the trail part.

Finally got out of work early and took a quick spin to Stone Mountain and back. Just 18 miles. I'm grossly out of shape, but it felt good to get out there in warm weather.

Weather was perfect today 66* when I left home and 79* when I got back and no wind for about the fifth day in a row. It was a great ride day. Tomorrow looks like another good day and I will be riding with my daughter. This is the earliest that I have reached the 500 mile mark. If all goes well I will have close to 650 for the month. On the down side of todays ride a rider got hit by a car, he seemed to be OK but did some damage to his bike. He will be sore tomorrow .

It was an awesome day in ATL so I just had to get out. Plus my wife was out for the day with a friend so......
No need for arm warmers, vest, or knee warmers.
Did my usual an added a few miles in the middle -- ran into a boatload of traffic at Stone Mountain so I backtracked thru town and went in the side entrance.
Saw El Conquistador De Amore and his fiance as I was headed out to Stone Mountain.
Nice day.

Had a beautiful day today, I showed up for a group ride and was scheduled to do 42 miles. It was very foggy, and even though we had close to 20 people show up, there were 15 racers and 5 of the rest of us. One lady was a beginner, and had just bought a Scott SUB 10, and about 5 miles into it, the right pedal falls off! Well, we managed to get it back on and tightened, and the 5 of us went 13 miles, and 3 people turned around and made 26. Me and one other guy went the full route, and with the added miles to and from my house, I ended up doing 47 miles and some change.

Yep, Went to the flea market with my mom and got a ride in on the way home. Got dropped off north of Keystone Heights (on sr100) rode about 4 miles on sr100 to the start of the PLB trail and rode the trail the rest of the way to Grandin. Almost the whole 14 miles into the wind, a pretty steady wind at that too. Can really tell I haven't been on the bike much... But was a good ride...... even into the wind

They redid the curb where the trail crosses SR26 in Keystone.... Hard to explain but if you crossed in the crosswalk you would hit the curb on the other side (east side). They took the slope away and made it into a curb. I'm glad I was paying attention otherwise i would have hit the curb. As it was i had to turn and ride towards the light (in the road) a bit to find the slope back to the trail. I had my camera I should have stopped and taken a picture.... but .... didn't ... Doh!

yes, we went out to the Ross Prairie Wildlife area on SR 200. OMBA (Ocala Mountain Bike Assoc) has been working on the trails that go east towards SR 484 there. We rode across the Prairie and then crossed 200 and rode another 8 miles or so west towards the Pruitt Trailhead. I enjoy the Pruitt area as it is mainly shellrock but can be very hilly in spots. It runs next to some of the old diggings of the Cross Fl Barge Canal. Lots of canopy oaks. This is a picture that hubby took a year or so ago when we were out there.

as you get about 5 miles in from 200, there is a really nice pavillion and we always stop and rest there. So strange to be out in the middle of nowhere and come across this.

This is a multiuse trail and normally there are lots of horse riders out but we didn't see any today.

Overall, about 12 miles with really great weather.
