Brooks Saddle Question
I’m looking at purchasing Brooks saddle and was wondering if any of my fellow Clydes have any experience riding on a C15? I would be interested in hearing your opinion of the ride and comfort.

B17 and C17 - no C15... So I have no idea how the more race like seats feel. But I do like both my B17 and C17.

I've been wondering about these saddles too.
What is the difference between and C and B and the numbers?
(Sorry if I derail this a little)

Well as far as I know, the B series are the original leather ones and the C series and cambien which is weather proof version that requires little maintenance. You can go on the Brooks web site and they have a description of each.

I have ridden the c17 carved and I really liked it alot. However, I found the b17, once broken in, to be just a touch more comfortable.

I just got a Brooks Cambium C17 Carved for my fat bike. I ride it in the type of conditions that can trash a leather saddle. FYI, I'm #260.
I've ridden it about 100 miles, and it's pretty good so far. It doesn't feel the same as my B17's; it feels stiffer and isn't exactly the same shape. My sit-bones perch on top of the C17, where they sink in a bit on a broken-in B17. But, I'm not experiencing any discomfort or soreness.
I agree that a broken-in B17 can't be beat for comfort. My other three bikes have a B17 black, B17 Special brown, and Flyer special brown. But I appreciate the durability of the Cambium saddles.
One catch: the Cambium saddles have been reported to fade after sun exposure.
Brooks' Cambium line comes in three widths, C13, C15, and C17.
FYI, the best price I've found on the C17 Carved: https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/...ry_country=191

I love my B17. Fits perfect. I thought about (continue to think about...) putting a C17 on my road bike. People keep telling me not to expect it to fit like my B17. The advantage of the C17 is that it can get wet without damaging the saddle. I don't always have fenders on my road bike in the summer, and I have been caught riding in rain storms - the C17 seems to be the convenient answer for this... but so is a plastic bag...

Still learning
C15 =140mm wide
C17 =162mm wide
B17 =175mm wide
The Cambium saddles won't break in and are unaffected by moisture or temperature.
The Brooks leather saddles will eventually confirm to your bottom.
Both are very good.

just to note for all saddle, not just brooks, what works for on person does not work for another.
I have b-17....it is great
I had a b-17 imperial narrow. just did not work for me.
I have a swift it is great
I tried a professional....not for me.
I think it is combination of how wide you sit bones are and how the saddle is contoured. Any thing that has contours like a selle italia turbo seem to work for me.

Thanks for the input everyone, I did a little sitbone test at my house last night and came up with 137mm for a distance and then had the LBS do one today and came up 138-139 so I think i will try a C-15, the 13 is a little wider but carbon and considerably more...

If your sit bones are 139 you most likely do NOT want a saddle that is 140mm wide, you'll be hanging over the edges.
If you used the specialized ass-o-meter, it doesn't really tell you your sitbone width, it just tells you what size saddle you should be looking at.

Trojan, that's kind of what I was thinking as well so I decided to go with one closest to my current Prologo and go from there.

I ended up going with the C-13, 145 with Carbon rails, well I went to install it today and was reading instructions and saw that it had a max rider weight of 100kg or 220lbs... Well this Clyde is 240-245 depending on the day so i was wondering if any other Clydes close to me or heaver have used the Carbon framed C-13 and how did it work out? The FAQ page on Brooks website says their saddles don’t have a published weight limit but recommend certain models for those 280 and over but the paperwork with the seat said differently... I sent and email to Brooks asking for clarification so we will see... Interested to see if anyone hear has used one.

I am 275# and rode a C13 on my commuter rig for a good month. No issues but it ended up on my SS MTB in the end where it currently sits and I am more comfy on it. My Gilles Berthoud aspin is the best Saddle I have ridden as a Clyde for distance rides.
