170lbs Down!!!

1-1/2 years I'm down a total of 170lbs. Feeling pretty good, still not back on the Gunnar yet. Looking forward to getting back into cycling. I was 233lbs this morning, I'm gonna try to break the 200lb mark & loose the Clydesdale title...

Amazing job!! I'm interested in your back story as well. I've been losing and gaining the same 25 lbs for the past 5 years. I need to get down about another 50.

Congrats, 173 times over.

I was intrigued by the reference to getting BACK on the Gunnar. It begs the question, how long has it been since you were last riding it?

Its been at least 7 years. My little girl is 7 now, I know it was before she was born. Ive ridden a little, on my Crosstrail but not much. It was impossible to ride the Gunnar at 400lbs...

I get that. I asked because I was curious about how long it took you to put on all that weight. From what I gather, figuring the time to decide on the surgery, and lose the weight, it seems that the gain must have been pretty fast.

Anyway, I'd start getting the Gunnar ready because you'll need it pretty soon.

you have my admiration, I'm trying to go from 227Lb to about 180-190... stuck at 210 at the moment and looking to make another push. Your current weight should be no issue for a bike...

best of luck and keep it going.

This is almost exactly my problem too. I started at 230 though and I'm stuck at 211

To the OP, congrats! Set your goals and figure out how to reach them!

OP, congrats! I remember when you started the surgery thread 1.5 years ago.

Just remember keeping it off is the hardest part, be prepared for that and have a plan to combat it.

I started losing weight in 2013 and got 149 lbs down, then start gaining again after about 2 years when I lost discipline. In December 2016, I refocused and start losing again. I'm at 147 down and dropping right now. Hoping to crack 150 in the next month.

My wife started a anti inflammatory lifestyle change just at 1 year ago and she's down 120lbs with no surgery. I'm following suite with her. At this point thats what we need to do to maintain good health..

If anyone is interested the program is called "Shape Reclaimed" its pretty restrictive but it works not only to heal disease but to lose weight in the process...
