Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I heard that the French surrendered, were temporarily reconfigured as a German concern, but ultimately returned to power by a group of English speaking nations.

No, wait. That was a different thing...

My new freehub for my Reynolds 46mm wheel showed up today. It's technicly a modified 9 speed freehub someone cut on a lathe. Spins nice and straight, no wobble like the file modified original.I have an extended hanger coming for this bike (F.B.B) and then I'll give the 32/11 cassette another try. But if not I bought 2 more 30/11 Shimano cassettes. Sram doesn't make a 30/11.... And for some reason a while back it rejected the 32/11 I had been running on it. Ill give it another go when that shows up.

It's good you're on the uptick. Just because you think you feel good doesn't mean you're ready to crush it. It's best to only do that procedure once. You have a lot in the bank.

I never got the label. I already had the custom label after events of September 2010 and February 2011. oh carp. have I been here that long.

Ya I hear ya. Have 0 interest in getting on the trainer right now. Hopefully I'll feel up to it in a few days. I just went on a walk around the block and that was sort of difficult.

I also buy socks and shoes new, but as I only wear them on the bike, they last a very long time. And, the pickins in these parts are a lot slimmer than they are NOB, so who knows what I might be buying new as time goes on.

I picked up more tangerines on the way home, a few minutes ago. These are smaller, more tightly wrapped, and much more acidic. A half dozen a day is unlikely.

It is also unlikely that there is any place to get COVID tested. Se la vie.

Mostly it's keeping them cut back smaller, and not falling off the ladder while you're doing it. Apples here are a little harder, unless you're OK with worms in them.
Are the trees planted in a row(s)? Or randomly?

Are you OK eating worms in your apples?

What's worse than biting into an apple and finding a worm?

Finding half a worm.

After grocery shopping and lunch I passed out on the couch and when I woke up I realized how tired I am. Legs hurt before the ride on Tuesday and I went again yesterday, but only a short one.
Usually I'm ok for Saturday with a short spin on Friday. Recovery seems to be my biggest issue these days.

Reading another thread that rhymes with pot or lot, a recent poster reminded me an awful lot of Larry, which then made me realize I havnt read anything from Larry since the ban. Did he ever come back?

Oh, and Simon started playing catch today. He has an arm and throws with accuracy. I roll the ball back to him and he picks it up and launches it back at me. I thought it was a fluke but got him to start and stop a couple of times.
