5 lbs from my goal.

So, last August in support of my wife who had to go on a restrictive diet to help her medical issues, I joined her in changing our diet.

Out went the refined sugars, grains, etc. Sort of Paleo, but not quite. After two weeks of craving, I hit the groove.

Started at 265, and lost quite a few pounds in the first 2 months, around 20, so I got back on the bike.

Since then I have lost 35 more, clocking in at 210 this morning. =)

Went from size 46 to size 36 over the same time period. Had to replace my cheek pads in the motorcycle helmet because my face is so much slimmer. I swim in my leather riding jacket, but I am ok with that, it cools much better with space for the air to circulate.

I can sleep on my back now!

205 is the goal, but letting my body decide. If I keep losing weight, great, if not, I am good with that too.

I have already started testing out additional foods that I can tolerate without triggering bloating or intestinal issues and have added beans and potatoes back to my diet.

Good job!

Did you turn to an exercise regime as well, or is it all from diet change?

Congrats, and hoping that you're feeling better, stronger, and happier for it. Hopefully, your wife, for whom you started this, is also feeling better.

However, be careful about resetting your goal any lower lest you achieve it and we have to throw you off this forum.

Nice work. Keep it up & you won't be posting in the Clydesdale anymore.

It started with diet change, and then as I felt better I started walking, then I started riding the bike.

Quite frankly, riding is slowing my weight loss, but not the loss of inches.

She is feeling much better. The pain was so bad a year ago that she was getting depressed.

Now she is down to almost 200, from 260ish, so similar weight loss.

She cannot ride because of a old back injury, but she does walk 2 to 3 miles a year.

And even if I am under 200... I will still ride like a Clyde!

Buy a bike that is 5 pounds lighter than the one you have.

Problem solved

Have you seen my bike?!

I would not buy another one. =)

But I probably could squeeze 5lbs out of it with a lighter saddle/wheelset and groupo.

I had a tandem ride next to me for a minute so the stoker could take a picture of it.

And they were on a Steve Rex, another local builder that makes custom bikes.
