Tomorrow morning I'm going to drag my ass out of bed at 5 and hit the road at 5:30 for 3 hrs with 40-45' SST with z1/2 in between.
Last week of base! Shooting for 17 hours, morning motivation and weekend weather pending, of course.

Cramming for the season with scheibo, mattm, and the rest of the team over the weekend in San Luis Obispo.
Day 1:
Rode with Scheibo before most guys arrived. 75 miles, 250 TSS
Day 2:
Ginormous ride with the 1/2 team. Started at a blistering pace up a climb, and finished 125 miles later speeding down the hill at 56 mph, with lots of shenanigans and a couple guys bonking in between.
390 TSS
Day 3:
Rode to the training crit, raced, 2 teammates that somehow still had energy lapped the field while I sat in the front third and waited for the sprint. Added more miles after.
95 miles, 230 TSS
Team dinner and a few extra beers and a port to help delay recovery, cuz I'm dumb like that!
Day 4:
Man I was hurting. Legs warmed up a bit though and I managed to take my share on the front. 30 miles, 90 TSS
Now I can barely walk.

Hoped to get outside today. But 40F, 15mph winds, and wet roads changed my mind.
90 minutes, 4x10 SST on the trainer instead. *sad panda*

I managed to get up early enough this morning. Yay me.
Only a few more rides of this crap then I get to switch to build. Really looking forward to staying in bed for another hour in the monring before work.

Flat road (!) ftp test tomorrow, seeing what the delta is between climby and flat so I can work on decreasing it. Honestly I will probably fail it, high volume does not make for fresh leg watts.

Strava is being generous with the 30ft of elevation.

decent weekend of riding at team camp - 4h20 (262 TSS), 4h30 (279 TSS), 4h20 w/ crits (248 TSS), 2h45 (155 TSS). highlights include flatting and having to chase back on for 10 minutes on the second day only to have to then do a 20 minute climb as well as doing two training crits and not dying (they were actually kind of fun, im probably going to start entering them so long as the courses aren't too technical).
i had to remind myself a couple times that it was a 'team' camp and not a 'training' camp - there's a lot of soft pedaling and waiting for regroups/flats etc. there also wasn't much climbing to be had, but i guess that's good because i probably do enough climbing on my own. i guess i just dont understand why no one seems to want to pull and ride around at a good clip and are content to push less than 150W for the majority of the ride and then sprint up a short climb or for a city limit sign. this makes sense to me for when you're in a race, and I guess you should practice on a training ride how you want to race, but its kind of foreign to me.

rode an hour today with 5x4' w/ 2'30" recovery on a 'flat' 'loop' near work (an out-and-back which is false flat up-down on both sides). really hard to keep the power high on the false-flat downhills so that was mainly what i focused on, but overall numbers are pretty meh in comparison to if i was climbing. still happy with the workout - wanted to quit after 3 and after 4 but toughed it out

In addition for sprinting for city limit signs of course, as one does at team camp.

Another good ride on the TT bike today, I'm definitely comfortable on it (not sure if that is a good thing?) but I do struggle to get my HR as high as I want for intervals. I might need to wear my HR strap tighter.
