Commuting Christmas swag 2017

I see we forgot about it this year... what’d you get? Have you used it yet?

My wife bought me a Cookie Monster jersey. RIDE BIKE EAT COOKIE. And a big rolling toolbox, tangentially bike relevant. I got her a fancy Hydroflask, color coordinated aqua

The fun one was a Christmas sweater jersey:
Primal Wear Winter Sweater Long Sleeve Jersey - Performance Exclusive - Performance Bike

Plus my wife got me a couple more wool long t-shirts for these cool commutes. (Now if it'd just warm up so she'd let me commute!)

Oh yeah! Blitzu Taillight, Cateye Velo 7 Cyclecomputer, and some new tire levers from my lovely wife! I snapped 2 tire levers putting my Schwalbe Marathon Plus tires on my bike. I need to learn patience! I finally got those suckers on, and have been riding happily for weeks. Glad to have more tire levers.

And I bought myself some wool legwarmers and a cycle cap from Ibex. So sad they're going out of business! I wish I had bought more stuff before it went out of stock. Their caps are really nice.

I didn't get any bike stuff this year, since cycling hasn't been to same extent for the last three years. We also kept the gift giving to a minimum since we dd buy a house this year.

But,,

My wife got a Buff, which she hasn't fully utilized.

I got a new watch to replace my 40 year old Timex; the new watch is a Timex but the basic Easy Reader model. I like the simple features and basic look and it looked most like the TImex Automatic it replaced. My other gift was the final piece in a set of four stools for our counter.

Previous christmas I bought a pair of Buffs 'for each other', but I never wear mine so I let her have mine too. Mine was the bicycle-themed prints "sprocket blue".

I treated myself to a Castelli Sfida jersey (back in November when they were 30% off). It's good down to 40. I'm very happy with the quality and warmth for the $100. I also bought the cycling winter knitted beanie tuque from Aerotech Designs. Happy :-)

I got the bike in September as my birthday/Christmas gift and probably will count toward the next couple holidays as well. The center stand was purely a Christmas gift.

Wow, headtube that long and you still have the seat way up high -- you must be a giant!

6'6", at least most manufacturers make bikes that fit me. Another couple inches taller and it would be only custom frames.

My Christmas present was a Stryd power meter, but it is for running. It's the first power meter made for runners. I don't really care about power, but it is also the most accurate footpod available for distance/speed. I was getting tired of my Garmin footpod being off by as much as 1/2 a mile on an 8 mile run. This thing is more accurate than my GPS outdoors. It didn't even need to be calibrated, it was spot on right out of the box.

This is the third bike-centric January birthday gift from my folks (in their 80s).
Last year it was a pin and string wall hanging that says "My bike is my therapist".
Two years ago it was a hand-made tall coffee mug with a bike on it.

If we are counting “I got this for myself and justified it with Christmas,” then I’ve got a newish MTB.

Didn't do gifts with the wife. Got some shooting stuff from other family members, and a nice craftsman rolling tool chest.
